Last night around 10:30 Sandy's caregiver called. Dr. Z's patients stay at a nearby motel for the first few days after surgery. This saves a lot over hospital stays. Anyway, they had just settled in when Lisa called. She wanted me to know Sandy was doing well. The recovery room time went a bit long but Lisa reassured me Sandy is fine. Anyone who knows me knows if you talk to me for very long I'll eventually say something funny. When that happened and Lisa repeated it to Sandy I could hear muffled laughs coming from her. There were even times when Lisa said nothing to Sandy that I could hera her laugh. Maybe she could hear me from the phone. It was comforting to hear her laugh, especially knowing the condition she's in.
I'm going to visit her today. When I get back I'll let you know more about how she's doing.
Julie
Thank you so much for keeping us posted, Julie. Please say HI and GET WELL SOON to Sandy from me!
hugs & smiles

Give Sandy my best wishes...
Remember the bruising & swelling is not as painful as it looks.
Buffy
I am very glad to hear that, but I had no doubts.
*HUG*
Thank you Julie.
I just got back from seeing her. She certainly looked different!! ::) The first thing I said to her was "How many times have I told you NOT to put your head down the garbage disposal!"
Typical of what you usually see with post op patients, she had the full head bandage and all but what took me by surprise is her voice. It's deeper than my male voice! I guess that's to be expected after having a tube down your throat for 10 hours. Through all the bandages I could tell her nose is smaller and her lips are bigger. Outside of that all I can say is she's hurting big time. "I expected to look like a truck hit me but I didn't expect to feel like it."
Anyway, I think she'll be fine. This is a very rough time but she's a strong person. I'm sure after she's healed we'll all be jealous!
Julie
BTW, I have a few pics but I was unable to load them here. ???
Thanks very much for the update, Julie. I'm glad that her surgery went well; now the recovery period starts and along with it a new life with a new face. What could be better than that? Please give her my regards. Thanks very much.

Thanks, Julie!
The poor girl... I mean I'm SO happy for her, I've seen the wonderful things Z. can do. But I also know the tough road of recovery ahead of her. She's gonna need her friends around her now, as I've often heard that FFS post-ops can get depressed just as SRS patients often do. Keep her laughing, OK? Just not TOO hard just yet, lol...
Please send her my best wishes and congrats!

How icky! Pain? eeeewwweee!
I hope she pulls through it all with ease and that the doctor will give her the needed medications to help her FEEL BETTER. ;)

I hope Sandy recovers well. You can try uploading the pictures into photobucket. They give you a code to post into the forms.
It's good to hear it's over. That means no more waiting for Sandy and she can have one less thing on her plate.
I wish her the best.
Hugs,
Rebis
Just a quick note ladies,
Both Julie and Julie, too visited me over my stay here and raised my spirits so very much. I know all your thoughts werw with me and that has made so much of a difference.
Yeah I was not prparered for the firt 24 hours and I did really feel hit by a truck. Overall I am healing faster than expected but it will take weeks and months for everything to settle down. I'll post later when I can see better, I have eye drops in almost constantly.
I am very pleased with the results and so All of this has beenworth it.
More later.
Love you all!
-Sandy(it MUST have been a big truck, really!)
