Title: Experimenting with nail polish
Post by: Emily.T on May 20, 2014, 05:03:16 AM
So tomorrow is my second appointment with my therapist so I decided to try and do my nails differently I don't have the proper brushes so I couldn't try and do something outrages but I ended up with something quite nice, let me know what you think.

You proved that it is not necessary to have all the expensive tools to obtain a great result :)
Good luck with the therapy , I hope you will start HRT soon

They look cool Emily

Another option you can do on the cheap is marble water effect, All you need is a disposable pot (or one you don't mind getting coated in varnish) some water, a cocktail stick, some tape, clear polish and your color(s).  Paint a base color on your nails first. Fill the pot with room temp water,  Tape your fingers so only the nail gets coated saving on clean up later, don't worry too much you can use a Q-tip dipped in remover to tidy up the edges later,  Drip a drop of your color onto the water, then drop the clear in the middle of it as it spreads, keep alternating to get a few layers but don't take too long or the varnish starts to cure,  Stir it up a bit with the cocktail stick then dip your finger nail in the floating varnish, you can use the stick to help separate whats now stuck to your fingers and what still on the water so you can get another finger in there.   Peel off the tape and clean up the edges with a q-tip dipped in remover.

Here's my first attempt at it, but if the above made no sense there are loads of vids on youtube.

Whatever you do please do not try this shade of blue. I took it off asap the next morning. I left my toes painted blue for almost a week so I could rememeber that it was not my color.   Have fune GF's.    Don't forget the biotin for stronger nails.
