Title: Swelling
Post by: Al James on May 20, 2014, 05:30:31 PM
Was wondering if anyone out there who has had phalloplasty has had this problem. I'm now 18 days post op and my entire groin area and bottom of my stomach is swollen and very hard. It seems to have come on in the last day or so. I'm seeing my nurse in a couple of days maybe earlier if I can get in to see her but wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience and what the outcome was?

Cheers for the vibes- I'm seeing the nurse today so hopefully she'll tell me I'm worrying about nothing

Are there other symptoms? Redness? Feeling oke not sick?? No fever? Is it warm? Pain?

Always remember: if you don't trust it GO to you doctor.

It's warm but I feel fine in myself. The nurse has given me some antibiotics now just in case and I've got an appointment with the London team a week on Tuesday so I'm feeling a bit happier now

How are things, Al?

If it is red and warm, it could be a sign of an infection. Or, since you say it is hard, it could be a haematoma? I developed one after 2nd stage, in my lower ab, it was about the size of my palm. But it went away on its own :)

Well the area is still swollen but it seems to be getting softer so I guess that's ok. Now been told that they're probably going to have to cut some dead skin away on the underside when I visit London next week. So alls good!
