I have a swimming pool near where I live that I walk by on a regular basis. It hasn't opened yet for the season, but I find myself wishing I could go on their water slides. Problem is, I'm still too mortified to wear a swimsuit out of fears that people will notice that something isn't right with me "down there." I have avoided swimming or any water related activities for over a year now that I have been living full-time as female. I would love to be able to put on a swimsuit and be confident in how I look, but I just way too many fears that I can't even get myself to look in that section when I'm at the store. I could use advice on how to hide things so I can hopefully be able to have fun at the pool this summer.
Having gone to the beach a few times in a swimsuit (Went fully exposed swimsuit only the last time I went, and before that was my first time going in a swimsuit without shorts or a shirt), I just wore tight, non-stretchy or very little stretch underwear, and I think it worked fine for me. The only issue I had was sometimes making sure the underwear under the suit wasn't show lol, but if you pull it high enough, it shouldn't be a problem.
The ENTIRE time, all i could think about was "they can see it, they know, they are looking at it, its so noticeable" despite my wife telling me "relax, you look like every other girl in a swimsuit. No one is looking at you.", it wasn't until i saw my pictures that I realized how much it didnt show.
I think it also helps to wear a black swimsuit, but that's just me. Black is both slimming and good at hiding many other things lol, Can't say its very comfortable to wear in hot weather though (absorbs a lot of heat). The swimsuit I wore was also just a liiiiiiittle bit tight and form fitting, which also helped to reduce the "bulge" >.<
Either way, if that's you in your avi, you look great already xD people will be too distracted to look down there in the first place :3 I was only 2 and a half months at the time of my outing :S talk about anxiety attack. If its worth anything; I didnt even have to really "tuck". Putting on the tight underwear and the swimsuit alone was enough to hide it, I can only imagine that tucking would have make it so legit that I could have fabricated an actual vagina lol. But i guess that really depends on the size of the boat :P
Some suits have a skirtlike wrap on them. You could look for one like that or wear shorts over.
Look for board shorts. Many teenagers wear them with bicini too.
Tight black underwear / black board shorts and bikini top and never had anyone complain or notice.
First off, you're avatar looks adorable. Second, as for swimsuit stuff, black bikini paired with a black gaff can help a lot. There is a nice video on YouTube on how to make a makeshift one that I would link if I wasn't on my phone >_< as a side note, if you're worried about maybe slipping out down below, there is a high chance of some shrinkage which would both reduce appearance and chance of that happening. Or at least it always seems to happen to me. =P I hope you have lots of summer fun this year.

Definitely this! /\ :)
Swim skirts and swim dresses are the best! No one can see your downstairs area so you'll be able swim worry free!
This is how I go about hiding down below. I just go for the sporty pop look http://ushida.deviantart.com/art/Me-in-my-beach-attire-p-455727067?ga_submit_new=10%253A1400790049
I'll have to find time and money to get a swim suit. I'm just mortified of being read by someone at the pool and kicked out. Maybe I could try swimming in a lake first. I feel like the murky water would make down there unnoticeable. Then I just have to worry about my voice outing me. Maybe I could go with a few accepting friends my first time.
As for my avatar... it is in fact a picture of me. It's now outdated by a year. I think then I was 5 months on hrt. I'll try to put up a current picture when I get home tonight.
I have a kinda revealing one piece that I wear with boardies..
No issues at all and no one seems to notice..
Another vote for a swimsuit with a flirty little skirt. I did that and was able to go to the beach with zero issues, and I have NEVER tucked at all. I was even able to be active, go swimming, etc. Plenty of cis women wear these suits b/c of fear of giant thighs or whatever, so there's plenty in stores. :)
Let's all be very careful not to use the word penis.
