Title: My body
Post by: Stephanie95 on May 22, 2014, 01:35:53 PM
I have really broad shoulders and a big right arm. What can I do to get a more feminine body without hormones in the mean time.

Hi Stephanie,

You need to upload to to a image hosting site and then link to that.

Why do you think your right arm is bigger? Is it muscles? I think that dropping weight and stopping the kind of exercises/activities that strengthen the arms and shoulders would be the only way.

Also, welcome to Susan's  :)  Great to have you here - looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

Well, chilling out on the resistance training will help, but as long as you are operating on testosterone, you body will tend to retain muscle mass.  I found that watching my diet, and doing a fair amount of aerobic exercise helped, I dropped forty pounds before beginning HRT, but it took over a year on hormones before my shape really began looking anything like feminine.  Takes forever, but when the changes happen it feels really nice.

Sorry for asking, but how do I change my profile pic? I used tumblr as the photo-sharing website. I honestly recant the right arm thing, it's sometimes the other way around and sometimes both look even, but it is very bothersome to me because it is so non-feminine.

Steph,

If you get up to 15 posts, you can post a profile pic and also Private Message other members. Poke around for a day or two and you should reach 15 relatively quickly.

Welcome, by the way. Hopefully you'll find the answers you need here.

Cheers,
Tegan

I think there is only an inch difference in the skeletal width of male and female of the same height.  That is one inch total.  Most of the width difference is muscle and other tissue.  I'm 5'6" tall and I wear XS Female shirts very comfortably but I have almost no muscles in my upper body and I'm very thin at 100 pounds. The real difference between male and female I think is probably the pelvis.  Males have a very narrow pelvis compared to females and it makes the shoulders appear broad.  Estrogen will distribute a lot of fat to the hips and thighs which can go a long way to balance everything out.
