I know that some of us are pretty interested in what Dr. Atala is accomplishing, and my grandma is pretty up to date regarding his work because she is in several science groups where he speaks and stuff. I thought you guys would like to know that yes, 3D printing of organs is possible. My grandma told me that he's been able to print the cells in the desired shape, I think it was a bladder if I'm remembering correctly.
Basically I just remember people asking about 3D printing in the past so I wanted to say that yes, it is beyond just theory now.
Man technology is just mind blowing these days. I'm so hopeful for this particular one. Just wow.
They can make a lot of stuff, but it comes from stem cells. http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/03/tech/innovation/3-d-printing-human-organs/
that is awesome news
Now if they could stick you up on the printer and have it attach the organs inside you so you don't need surgery.
