A few years ago the Samurai champloo soundtrack changed my life, and I started more and more to listen to instrumental hip hop more and more. Now I'm at the point where I almost cannot stand songs with lyrics besides folk music from Terry Callier
Right now I'm working my way through the Ta-ku discog, Slum village, Jazz liberatorz and Grammatik. I was sort of leery of Ta-ku a few years back but he's gotten so good now that he's broken away from borrowing styles from others. 'Do what you love' is so breathtaking!
My playlistings are
Jdilla's: Illa Jay, Vintage along with replaying the purple single until I can't anymore.
Fat Jon's Entire discography that I can find
Michita: Dawning and a full life
Blazo: Colors of jazz (that summertime remix is one of my favorites)
Ironically as I was reading this, I was making up some stupid rap to a hip hop instrumental of a song, lol, and normally i'm not as much into rap as I used to be.
I don't tend to enjoy rap too much unless it's on the 'hip hop' side and not on the 'nu rap' side and it's kind of hard to find stuff I enjoy too much without it becoming stale quickly. What where you listening to?
I was listening to J-Kwon's tipsy instrumental. Before that it was Petey Pablo
I was actually just listening to some 90's guilty pleasures the other day. I ended up with some lil jon and master p stuff and it was so good but I used to hate that stuff to my core when I was younger. I think a lot of it was earwormy
The 90's stuff is some of the best!
I'm a big Nujabes fan. Uyama Hiroto is also awesome.

Hey there fellow Nujabes fan! I keep trying to like Uyama Hiroto, but I don't get as far :C I did find some stuff by Force of Nature and I'm so excited. I went down the list of all the people who worked on Samurai champloo to see who I liked the best and Force of nature and Tsutchie were top stuff.
I was a huge fan of Samurai Champloo and the music around the series as well.
