Just flow with it, sometimes things happen fast, sometimes gradual.  Not something that lends itself to planning, you might want to go full time way sooner, or later.  Just be yourself, let all the external expectations fade into nothing and be yourself.  Thats my advice, I came out to everyone before hrt to give them more time to process, cause thats a lot to hit people with all at once going fulltime within weeks of coming out imo.  I'm in the androgynous phase right now myself (three months in), and honestly I'm debating playing it less safe and going for all those cute girly tops...

If you are using Informed Consent make sure you go in with knowledge of the WPATH SOCs. You may have to demonstrate knowledge of the drugs, route of administration and process. Some will not provide if you are unfamiliar with the protocols used in trans care. Knowledge is power.  :)

Well, you really need to get:
fresh fruits and veggies,

sleep,
water,
exercise,
time to meditate and empty your mind,
therapy,
hugs.

Things to avoid,
smoking,
drugs,
alcohol,
negative people.

prepare yourself, your emotions are going to be a tad overwhelming for a while. Make sure your eye makeup is waterproof ;)

Technically, an informed consent prescriber should do the "informing" before asking for your "consent", however it doesn't hurt to do your research ahead of time, and know what to expect as far as side effects, risks, and to be completely sure in your path. The more you understand, the better off you are.

Your mileage may vary...and what I mean is....not everyone gets the same results in the same amount of time. The key...and I can't stress this enough...is PATIENCE.

Start working on your voice (if you haven't already) and thinking about hair removal. IMO: find a licensed dermatologist. Don't trust your face to a salon or a spa.

You will probably be prescribed Spironolactone as an anti-androgen. My advice is to make sure to take that in the AM (I take mine with my first cup of coffee), because it makes you shed water....and you don't want to be up all night running to the bathroom to pee.

If you get the patch for your estrogen....it's more effective on the buttocks. Just switch sides every other patch.

Above all...hang on tight...it's gonna be an amazing ride!!!!

Economically i'd say that pills are the cheapest. I currently pay 18$ a month for 3 separate prescriptions. Of course, it depends on your insurance too. But even without insurance i think generic brand hormone pellets are the cheapest.

I started on pills and soon hope to switch over to injections (i feel, for lack of a better word, "behind".), but your doctor will tell you what he/she thinks is right for you.

Otherwise, work out, eat right, and surround yourself with positive energy and supporting people. Its a hard ride to go it alone, its good to have at least one person by your side whether its a friend, partner or family member. But even if you have no one, remember that you're never really alone <3

I agree with what TaoRaven said about taking Spiro in the morning... that pill makes you pee like a pregnant woman. And yes... patience is key... I'm still working on that part myself. Before i started, i didn't believe the whole roller-coaster metaphor... but make no mistake, it is quite literally a roller-freakin-coaster.... just hang on tight and remember that you have your safety harness on... you might have moments where you'll feel like you're gonna fall off (emotions getting the better of you), but as long as you remember that you are safe and that those moments are just a steep drop that will end soon, you'll be just fine.

Try to enjoy the ride, even those steep drops, as hard as it may seem sometimes. Also something I'm working on still.

Don't let anything hold you back, be yourself and let your true self flow freely outward. Soon enough the dormant fears of assimilation will fade, and you wont be able to control your natural self and it will feel amazing. Oh, and get yourself a hobby >_< some months will fly by, and others will feel like an eternity (I'm already halfway through my 4th month and i didnt even realize it, but my 3rd month for some reason felt like time stood still >_< lol) and let go of timed expectations.. they will only stress you out, its important to remember that not all girls both trans and cis evolve at the same pace or in the same way, try to find parts of yourself that you like and remind yourself that they will only get BETTER, try to love yourself now so you can fall IN love with yourself later. Give the army of fear and uncertainty no quarter, and if you run into any mental road-blocks ~ take no prisoners and just ram through them <3 Get ready to go down the rabbit hole xD

Welcome to Wonderland 0_0 (lol)
