Like the fog on the Barrow-Downs, depression/despair have moved into my home and are enveloping me. Thanks to meds and my ability to make myself do things I hate, I'm still functioning, at least for the basics. It's just that, what with the fog, I can't see anything that would make existing preferrable to not existing. It's like going to a great big buffet, but everything turns out to be dry sawdust when you go to put it in your mouth. But the stuff that hurts still hurts as keenly as ever, maybe more. Anne Theriault's Ten Lies Depression Tells You (http://bellejar.ca/2013/08/07/ten-lies-depression-tells-you) is running through my mind, especially #10, but some #1 & #2.
(I'm starting to sound like Marvin from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, so I'll stop here.)
Ouch.
Wondering where you might stand on Christianity, that is the source of my own strength and hope. Much better buffet awaits on the other side, but have to stay here until He calls.
Feeling Good the new mood therapy may still be in print, great book on fighting cognitive distortion depression causes.
I think dear that you might need to call your therapist if you are getting into a place where you could hurt yourself.
You are far to valuable to us to be a loss. Whether you know that or not. Every one of us here is, we are all badly needed for each other, trans can be rough.
Might try hitting our posts in the Christianity section in case it helps you.
Hang in there dear. Outlast the feelings a minute at a time if you have to, but outlast them nonetheless, and get help if you need it.
Hang in there.
i don't know you too well, so i don't know how to comfort you right.
but if you do want some contact outside very public forum, try to find me on gadnihasj at gmail dot com (spelling it out so bots won't get that e-mail.) i'll generally be available on that mail, or hangouts as that thing actually works on my phone.

Feeling Good is still in print and in ebook format. Currently a 2008 edition.
Finding a purpose in life isn't easy if there is no absolute truth to hang on to. However, there are other possibilities:
Is there something you are personally getting out of life?
Are there other people you care about who you help or who you can help (even if you don't know them personally)?
Is there some reasonable hope that you can eventually make #1 or #2 happen in the future?
At a minimum, there are people who care about you on this forum and want to help you. Even if the help they provide is not always very high, you probably care a bit about them in return, although in-person stress you experience may drown out those feelings. You are also able to help others here as well with your perspective, and you should not write off that potential. By your own accounting, your kids need you, too, and you can be an understanding ear when life gets hard for them.
