Title: Eyeshadow not staying in place
Post by: Jessica15 on June 09, 2014, 08:14:25 PM
Any eyeshadow I apply below the crease ends up transferring to the upper lid area when I open my eyes.  And hours later everything tends to blend into one big smear.  I'm already using primer and it helps keep the makeup on but doesn't prevent it from smearing around.  How do I stop this from happening?

Try a different brand of each - it's probably not completely compatible with your skin. Try others, or if they're cheap brands some slightly better ones :)

I was about to say to try a different brand of primer and shadow.

Another thing is just keep touching it up during the day. Unfortunately, makeup doesn't stay perfect all day, so keep a compact mirror and some makeup in your purse and just give it a quick check every few hours.

I have noticed with some cheaper brands of eyeshadow it tends to migrate. As others have said i've had better luck with better quality brands. I currently use urban decay and while pricy it seems to stay put put pretty well. I don't use primer.

Another thing you can do is to do spot checks when you go in the bathroom and repair whatever has moved.

this is one of the reasons I spend so much time looking in a mirror.

I've found that cheap cosmetics just aren't worth the hassle. Revlon...going to have to re-apply like every two hours, and it's a nasty smudged mess by 1PM.

Lorac will last ALL day, stay exactly where I put it, and the color just POPs.

I do use a primer as well, incidentally.
