Title: Binder color alternatives to black?
Post by: Kiwi on June 11, 2014, 04:59:21 PM
I always had black binders because I love black and I often wear dark colors, but I got advices from FtM friends that maybe would be better to have binders in different colors to match the clothes.

I now have to buy an additional binder (I always buy tri-top from Underworks) and I can't chose between white or nude color.
Can you give me your impression, the one you have and the color you prefer? It doesn't matter the model or brand of the binder just the color.

I would like white but I fear it will show some sweat stains (even if I tend to keep my binders clean) and I find the nude color a bit "strange" but I think that maybe it's good to wear with a tight arm-hole tank top, as I can't do it with my black because it's showing at the sides. What's the best color for button up shirts or white tees?

Thank you  :)

Nude is great if you're caucasian. I only buy that color now because I can wear thin white T-shirts or white button-ups without the binder showing. It's way better than white that will look like a sports bra. Though, if the binder is showing it's kind of a wierd color for an undershirt. Other than that, the begie one wins. I say go for that one! :)

Thank you mate for the feedback, yes I'm caucasian. I'm the guy in my avatar  ;D

To be honest I didn't think about the white looking like a sport bra, you're right and that would be even worse. The black one can look for an undershirt. Nude can't, but it's better for white clothes. Usually my binders don't show in black so I hope they won't show if I buy one in nude.

Since you have binders in nude have you ever tried to wear a tight arm-hole tank top over them? Does it show on the side?

No problem glad I could help :)

Yea if it's tight armholes the binder doesn't show for me.

I've always gone with white, never had a problem. Nobody's ever questioned it, and it just looks like a vest to most people. Personally I feel like a "nude" one will attract more attention because people might stare in confusion trying to work out what it is. If they catch a glimpse of something under your shirt and it's white they're less likely to think anything of it.

Thank you :)
I decided to first try nude and then if I'm not satisfied with it under my summer clothes I'll buy next one in white.

It's just a summer problem anyway, what I don't wear now I'll wear in a few months.
In winter here is cold so it's not a problem which color of binder you are wearing really, you have layers of clothes  ;D

Exactly.  I wore only white binders for 15 years.

That's why I've been sticking to white. I think people would think it was a tank top style t-shirt, if it shows up at all, but I've never seen a guy wearing a beige tank top, so I think that would raise more suspicion.

Loveboat makes grey, I think it's a good binder color.

If you have rust in the water a white binder will turn nude.

My water has much iron so I probably ended up with a ruined white binder, or stained and I wouldn't like.

The nude one just arrived (3 days USA-Italy with cheapest delivery  :o ) and for now I'm satisfied, it's invisible under thin white t-shirts and it doesn't look as bad as I thought.

Jay I like the grey one but I think loveboat binders are too expensive for me, considering that I must add good $$$ for international delivery...so for now I stick with the colors offered by Underworks.

For some reason the nude ones always creeped me out lol.

I had a white one and it was OK. Those ones get dirty FAST, I mean if you sweat at all it will get stained. But really, it's not like I was taking my shirt off for anyone, it was a private garment so I didn't care.
