Title: OMG! Best Weekend Ever!!!
Post by: Madi_Raye on June 17, 2014, 02:25:12 PM
I am a member of several "Regional Burningman" network groups. This is my 9th year attending regional burns, (never been to "the man" out in Black Rock City yet.) So, as some of you may know by some of my recent posts, that i'm pre-everything, and just started telling people I know in the default world that I AM TRANS* and plan on transitioning.
Well, this past weekend was my "home burn" known as "Gateway". I went down a week early to build the effigy, and the people i worked with were awesome. They quickly adapted to feminine pronouns, and using the name Madison or Madi for short. then the actual burn started.. i dressed fem for the weekend. I worked the gate for a few hours every day, helped several people set up their camps or art installations, and even volunteered for pre-burn ceremony safety team.
NOT 1 single negative word was uttered in my direction, nor did I receive any dirty looks, or sexual harassment. Even tho I didn't wear any make-up, or wigs people still considered me, just as any other girl there..
It was such a lovely time. My 1st time "out" in a semi public setting and I freakin' loved every second of it!! I just had to share!!
