Title: FFS - biological female. wanted to share my experience- Dr. Spiegel
Post by: naomippp on June 17, 2014, 05:50:10 PM
Hello, ladies. First off, i want to just let you know i am a biological female who just feels like she has more masculine features. I am actually currently at the hospital recovering from this awfully painful procedure. I am trying to eat but goodness it's painful! I also am posting on here, because i used this website to research the results of the different US surgeon who offered what i wanted and wanted to share the love and experience with anyone who might be terrified of FFS and picking the wrong doctor.

I got:
small cheek implants
mandible contouring
small chin implant
forehead contouring with scalp advancement and endoscopic brow lift.

For this (minus the travel expenses, it was quoted around 29,000 including operating room fees and anesthesia. So far the jaw and chin hurt the worst...but don't be afraid to ask for pain meds.

I was kind of andogrynous to begin with and was very specific with what i wanted. personally, i feel like it's best to be very specific with what you want and not leave it into the hands of the surgeon. i don't think it is wise to leave the art of your beautiful faces into the hands of the surgeon...i told him to go conservatively on everything, but I've read he's pretty conservative in his technique anyways.

anyways, let me know if you have any questions. my purpose posting is just to help people and guide them in selecting an ffs!

Cool, good luck healing... did he have any issues with operating on a cis girl? A lot of times I want to get FFS to look more neotenous but my jaw and midface are already underdeveloped and not sure if a surgeon would be willing to do it.

you mind showing me a picture of you just do get an idea of what you're talking about

he had no problems at all! i explained to him like i felt like a had a strong jaw in the back with a weaker chin as well as a flat face. i asked him if he could just shave off the corners of my jaw and then do a small implant. he also recommended small jaw implants for me which was spot on...

here is about 9 :00pm ...4 hours after being transferred to post-operative

Honestly, it's hard to see this problem in pics because you have to see the depth to really get what I mean! I don't photograph well because there is too much depth in my face, it's also why it's hard to show what I mean in a pic. But again thanks for your opinion! And I hope the healing goes well and the results are great!  :D

I think you looked very beautiful before surgery but if it'ssomething you wanted to do then good for you and I'm sure you'll look amazing after as well :) and also prolly feel better about yourself.

thank you! yes, there are features that i absolutely love and features like my weak chin and my forehead that i absolutely hated. every thing else was just kind of experimental...i was "eh" about my jaw and probably could have been okay with the way it was..as well as my cheekbones.

but it's definitely something just for myself! i look HORRIBLE right now. i can't even recognize myself..one day post-op. it's kind of depressing especially when you can't see the exact result until much later down the road..

oh absolutely! I'm going to keep everyone updated. :) i HATE the bandages ..i feel claustrophobic in them. not to mention, i can't really see anything either because they won't let me put my contacts in and i forgot to bring my glasses. so anyone with vision problems, be sure you bring your glasses. :P

I am having my surgery with Spiegel in three weeks - brow recontouring, brow lift, scalp advance, cheek implants, and lip lift.  So excited. I have seen several girls that went to him and he is truly an artist.  He doesn't leave you with a 'blank' featureless face that removes all your individuality.  I'm paying more than some other surgeons charge, and I'm practically going broke to do it, but this is my FACE we're talking about here!

Soooo looking forward.  (Well, not to the recovery, but the aftereffects!)

Naomippp, do you think you'd have trouble putting your glasses on?  This has been worrying me, as I am functionally blind without mine on.  Also, how painful is the forehead part compared to the chin?

i hope all goes well! so far I'm pleased with the result. I'm hoping the skin tightens around my jaw a little more..

i would actually say the lower half of my face hurts way worse, but i don't think it is due to the jaw. definitely the chin implant. but comparing the forehead and jaw, the forehead is worse. but it's not a sharp pain...just some pressure and numbness.

oh i think the original bandages, it would be hard to slip my glasses on...i was heavily gauzed. now i have ace bandages, and i think it would be easy to put on...

yeah, i was really depressed about not being able to see...like tears..probably due to the lingering effects of anesthesia and the intense pain i was in. thank, god, for oxycodone
