Title: A Breakthrough Week
Post by: Will on June 20, 2014, 08:52:34 PM
I'm just wrapping up an amazing and wonderful week, and I just want to share the good news while waiting for my last flight home. A close family friend was married this week at Yosemite National Park in California, and a large group of friends and family spent much of the week together at the park sharing meals and activities. Prior to arriving, my lovely wife spoke with the bride's and groom's families (without my knowledge, initially) to let them know about my plans to transition and that "Willow" would be attending the wedding in place of the "William" they had known these last six years. I was simply blown away by how accepting and welcoming EVERYONE was to me. Even people I had expected to scoff or criticize went out of their way to offer hugs and words of encouragement. I was able to attend the entire week-long event "full-time" as Willow, and it was without a doubt the best week I have had in years (perhaps decades). The experience has reassured me even more that I'm making the right decision, and I can hardly wait to start HRT next month. Hooray!

Thank you, both of you. I was surprised how well things went, and it was really touching. I was really nervous heading into it, but now my confidence is through the roof!
