Today is going to be sunny and warm, I was thinking I'd wear sandals, skinny fit Levis and a nice breezy translucent black silk blouse with a dark floral pattern, so I look high and low for my favorite black bra and it's nowhere to be found. I don't want a white one under a black top you can almost see through lest I look like a dork that's style challenged. I know my spouse did the laundry and I saw it hanging in her drying room, but it's gone! :'( I've been banned from using the washer and dryer because I have screwed up too many things, so this is her domain.
Finally after some noisy lamentations she finds my bra in her underware drawer and now it has become kind of a comedic situation after the fact and I'm wondering, does this sort of thing happen to anyone else ??? I used to travel for work and found her panties size 7 in my suitcase and had to wear them, fortunately they fit.

That sounds familiar. My wife and I both do laundry, (I'm pretty good at it and know from umm, experience what gets washed in which manner- machine normal, gentle cycle, hand wash, line dry, dry flat and dry clean.) but yes, if something's ever missing the go-to place is the other's drawers drawer.
Can you believe my wife and I can wear the same bras, shoes and certain tops? It was REALLY convenient for me early on.

For over a week, there was a red racerback workout shirt on the bed, my wife thot it was mine and would not touch it, I thought it was hers and it was not mine to touch. During an argument, my wife said, she was not allowing me to dress in the house. I told her I wasnt. she said, then why is your top on the bed, I left it there for you. I said it is not mine, and that I was doing my own laundry so I would not upset my family. She insisted that it was mine, hollering ensued.. I knew it was not mine. I hollered for our 22yr old daughter to come upstairs, wife asked if the top was hers, daughter said no, it was my wife's. She said she never owned it, daughter said she took from her drawer months ago, just never returned it til now..
Cue smug look from me... :p
Oh, and like Jill, my wife and I are the same sizes, tho my waist is an inch smaller ;)
LOL the one thing I could never bring myself to do is dig around in my wifes lingerie drawer. Now I wonder what's in there that's mine... I hand wash most stuff, just to keep her in her comfort zones, but she doesn't seem to be as concerned anymore about all of it.

The other day she was giving me a backrub, lifted up my nightshirt and got an eyefull and all she said was "I should be wearing those". I told her I'd buy them for her in a heartbeat. I have bought lingerie for her for years, now she finally knows why I was so good at that. LOL LOL

I am so envious of you all.. (deep deep breath here)
I just purged nearly all my clothes, except for some jeans, a pull-over top, a thin V-neck t-shirt and my calf boots (will not dump them for anything or anyone!). it is just part of my keeping my family. My wife split up our laundry a couple months ago because she didn't want to find any of my clothes in the hamper. Fair enough. But I was washing her clothes for a while, and would ruin a piece (dryer/wrong water temp) abt every 3-5 loads.. I was getting much better than I was.
So the workout top on the bed.. well, when she realized it really was hers, she kinda smirked at me, like "ok, I'm a ditz".. we're a bit better for it now. She's letting me keep my jeans but I don't think she'll wash them herself yet. She did comment that I looked really really good in them.. eh, maybe, if I leave them.. on.. say the ironing board, or bed, she'll try them on? my butt's as big as hers. *giggles*
As for lingerie football.. I think I can find a cheerleader outfit..

My GF and I have been keeping our laundry separate for years because she kept getting her son's clothes and mine mixed up. Nothing worse than finding someone else's skivvies in your laundry, clean or otherwise. :o
Now that I'm starting to dress again it's convenient because we have several pairs of panties that are identical except that I'm a size smaller. When we first got them, some of mine ended up in her dresser because she "assumed" that they were hers and I'd tossed them in with my laundry.
Having been divorced from my spouse for nearly 30 years, there have been no problems directly between she and I about my dressing. We are actually better friends now than back in days of yore, and our oldest daughter (at age 40) still lives with her, but said daughter frequently wants parental time with me. (Usually money or a rant about her mother are the prime motivators.) When my daughter comes over, it is usually still wearing a work logo polo shirt, which is not suitable for wearing at the restaurants I like to go to, and certainly not for some of the better ones we have around. My daughter is actually one full size larger than I am, but I do like to keep most of my tops a bit loose since I have a waistline exaggeration, as a result they look OK on her IF she borrows one for dinner. At a pre-Father's Day supper for our son, my ex asked me to drop by her place because she had found a couple of tops that she knew were not our daughter's. Indeed they were my tops, I have some style thank you. A little different take on the inter-spousal laundry, but the same merriment. Laundry gets around, at least my ex had washed them for "her daughter".

I don't know how many of her bra's that I threw in the dryer and killed the elasticity before I started wearing one and caught on. She does both of our girl stuff now and doesn't complain. I had a discussion about how repulsive boobs become as they get larger than road cone status and that I didn't want mine sliding down my chest and wind up moving back and forth pendulously under my top like a pair of bus windshield wipers. That imagery struck a chord with her and she's convinced that I should wear my bra every day regardless of circumstances. Sometimes one has to finesse these things! ;D
