I would say it depends on genetics

It is true that some mtfs don't ever gain much in the bust, but that's also true of genetic women. I've read hundreds of accounts on these forums over the years, though, and I can say you've still got plenty of time for something to happen. While some get growth right away, others wait months-- even a few years before much happens. Then, bam-- boobs. BTW, I don't know how many times I've heard accounts from mtfs who decided they were not going get much, went and had implants, then the HRT kicked in and they ended up with much more than they really wanted.

Your best friend is something a bit hard to come by at your age, Anna-- patience.

I feel like you have to get *something* eventually. Even if it's just teeny little cones. I can yell you that at 3 months in I had very little..basically just puffy nipples really lol. Now I'm up to a...pretty full B with a round shape and well developed areolas and such, at just over 7 months..and my development has gone quickly.

So basically just give it time. It will happen but the first 3 months are nothing. Thats like the primer. Than after 4 you should start noticing stuff.

It seems really rare but, there are a few people who really haven't got much development to speak of, but usually those are people who start rather old or just genetically have flat chested women in thier family. There are a few cisgirls who don't really even get much development too....

I know one girl who only has a AA cup size after two years but she started at 38 and her family was never well endowed.

I'm not saying that it will happen to you, but it does happen. One of my closest trans friends, Arianna, basically has no visible breast development whatsoever despite being 7 years into transition and 4.5 years post-op. She stopped at just getting basal nipple development with pretty much no soft tissue at all.

I have GG friends that never grew breasts at all.

It's another YMMV thing.

I think A or B cups are a fairly common achievement. But also little or no development at all.

Beyond B cup, consider yourself very lucky!

I'm currently a 32 B, not for long though they are growwwwing!
I'm nearly 9 months on hrt now

During my first transition attempt I was unable to grow anything much, AA - if that - after two years. Been doing better this time. Up to a B cup after one year. So, yay.

Yeah, even cis girls sometimes get nothing, but it's rare in both cis and trans women, I think. I don't know anyone personally who had *zero* development.

Actually, I know a lot more trans women who were told that "one cup size smaller" myth and ended up shocked by more growth than they expected than who were disappointed, especially bearing in mind that breast development for cis girls can last a decade or more and sometimes someone who'd given up had a growth spurt.

sometimes someone who'd given up had a growth spurt.

Maybe the stress of it (i.e. cortisol, poor blood circulation and digestion, quick metabolism) interferes somehow with breast growth so that when we stop caring, suddenly there they are! Growing!!! How ironic but that's just how it is.

You still have a little while to go. Breast development goes through stages, involving tissue growth as well as nipple changes. In reality, it can take between like two to five years (each body is unique, as well as age and medication being factors) to see full development.

Sarah was very frustrated for a year because all she noticed was more sensitive, bigger nipples. Now, she has these little nodules under each nipple that are hard, and super sensitive, and painful when touched. They loosened up a bit and they are getting bigger. Going braless in public is getting harder for her because her nipples now react to temp changes. I have seen the stages of breast development with her, and it helped that her dose of E went up (she was taking a ridiculously low dose of E and finally the doc upped the dose to something reasonable).

Three months is still early on, so be patient. I know you want them now, but each body is unique. Sarah was getting very frustrated, but she is more relieved seeing her breasts grow. I'm rooting for you. :)

Don't be too hard on yourself, doll.  Everyone is different, and no one, but no one, can predict what will or will not happen for you.  Just have faith in the process, take your meds like a good girl, and work on falling in love with yourself everyday... that's what's really important here.

I have a (cis) step daughter who struggles with the fact that she has one small but well developed breast, and one small obviously underdeveloped breast.  These things happen.  They just happen.  Not to suggest that such a thing might happen to you, but rather that worry will gain you nothing, and relaxing into the process will yield you infinite rewards in peace and well being.

I was told early in transition by a lovely trans woman friend who transitioned early in the 70's that I should not worry myself too much about breast development.  Like any girl going through puberty I needed to be patient and to give it time.  She suggested that breast augmentation surgery is always an option, but she very strongly suggested that I give HRT at least 5 years to do its work.  That's about how long puberty takes to do the bulk of its body work.

I took her suggestion to heart.  I waited 8 years.  My body, mind and social standing shifted, changed and evolved substantially during those years.  And eventually when I got breast surgery, I knew what I had to work with, and I knew what I wanted.

Seriously, do what you can to fall in love with yourself everyday.  It will make everything about transition flow so much easier, and self-love will enhance your natural beauty in ways that you can't even imagine.

You go girl!

Im still really confused as to whether any mtf's don't have ANY breast growth at all?  Like no nipple change no breast tissue nothing? Also if they don't have any of the symptoms of it like soreness, breast buds, itchiness etc?

It's quite rare that absolutely no change occurs. I don't think you should worry.

I wouldn't worry about it, Anna.  You're clearly one of those girls that would look amazingly feminine and attractive even if you were flat chested (which is unlikely)

After 3 and a bit years on hormones, I still can't fill a AA cup. My nipples and areola have not changed as far as I can tell.. And it's been a long, long time since there was any sign of growth..

I think that genetics and age play a huge role here as well as your HRT levels. Luckily for you age is not a factor.

Are your E & T levels where they should be?

What size did you mom have? Your female relatives?

If E & T levels are correct then all you can do is wait and see what mother nature provides.

My mom was tall and thin with A cups, but both of my grandmothers were short stout women with big breasts.  I started transitioning at 50 so I really didn't expect much from HRT according to the conventional wisdom on this board and according to what my mom sported but lo and behold I seem to be following in my grandmothers footsteps. Biology is funny that way.

There is always the augmentation option if you are not happy with what you get naturally.

It seems highly unlikely. It's early months for you and you are on a starters dose I would image. Just hang in there a bit longer.

My friend does YouTube videos, and is well 14+ years transitioned...she could go stealth if she wanted. She has awesome advice to young transitioners, so I'm just gunna drop this video here, tell you to smile, relax, it all takes time, and enjoy the ride. I hope the video helps. It's good to take advice from those who came before us, and learn to just enjoy the ride, too. Your girls will grow doll. :) im 13 monthes and a small c cup :)

I have hormones for 2 years no. I got no boobs, even no AA or AAA. Same size as male before.
But i guess i'm no example, my hormones doesnt work generally, so its only one symptome of all.
