Title: I came out to my brother
Post by: Marcel on June 22, 2014, 10:51:40 AM
He's a doctor so his medical advice can be helpful.
I came out to him via text message and this was his response.

"Thanks for letting me know <name>. No matter what happens, I will always be there for you and support you 100%. I just want you to be happy and if this is what its going to take to make it happen then I back you 100%. I don't want you to feel weird or anything around me. Feel free to talk to me or reach out to me for any advice. Whether it's for medical advice or anything else. I'm always here with my doors open."

Yay, that's awesome!  Congrats!  :)  I wish my family could be like that.

So far, only my mom and brother knows. Was going to tell my dad this week but me and him are not on speaking terms due to him being a total jerk about my BA degree instead of even giving a simple hug and congratulations. He also threw the yearbook at me because my photo was missing and I've yet to receive an apology.

Congrats on being able to tell you your brother. I know having my sister on my side has been extremely important to me.

Congrats, I want to tell my brother and his wife first, they are always supporting LGBT and going to rallys and things.

Yeah, it's great to hear this since my mother doesn't seem to know much about transgender people, if at all.

It'll work out in that case, my brother never gave any indication that he supports LGBT people. He just wants me to be happy.
