hi, I'm new to this place, it feels a bit weird because i haven't spoken to anyone about how i am feeling or what i am doing, but i have (for myself) admitted that i am ftm, and that i want to come out but i don't know how. and I'm scared.
i have always worn mens clothing and have short hair and have often been mistaken for the opposite sex, but i have never experimented with packing or binding until now. i guess i wonder if others are just coming out - particularly a bit later in life, and if anyone can offer any advice.
best
Hi H and welcome to Susan's. There are discussions around coming out, see Forums->Transitioning->ComingOutOfTheCloset. Susan's is a very welcoming place, we have come together here to support, share, vent and even laugh. I fully get that you are scared. Been there, still am sometimes. Not to worry dude, you will get a lot of answers here. My first suggestion is, if you don't currently have a therapist, find one. They are a huge help.

Hi hcw - Welcome :)
I'm relatively new to all of this, really started making changes a year ago. I'm currently 28 years old - not sure how late in life you were asking about...but feel free to email me anytime if you want to chat in person.
This is a great place to talk to people about all of this and feel safe in doing so. I agree with EllieM - finding a good therapist to help you through all of this is so beneficial. It's another safe place to explore all of these feelings you have with someone who has experience (hopefully) with this issue. And they can help you see things you never could see on your own.
It is scary - there's no way around that. Find support where you can and use it. Be open-minded and patient. Start exploring the feelings you have and trying new things to see if they help you. Reading through the posts on this site will help you to realize you are not alone.
I'm glad you found the site - good luck :)
Welcome to Susan's. HCW.
:)
coming out to yourself is sometimes even more difficult than coming out to other people.
It's understandable to be scared at this point, but you've come to a great place where there's lots of people who can give advice, experience, and support.
welcome to the site, I wish you the best!
