So I'm now 10 weeks into HRT and even though my breast area started to be pretty sensitive to the touch from about one week in, they've been really upping their sensitivity to even the slightest touch and for the past couple of days it's been really significantly painful to the touch.
Now, I know this is all normal and to be expected so nothing that I'm worried about it going on, but after having a couple of conversations about this with friends, I've begun to wonder if more sensitivity is actually associated with faster growth or is it just general hormonal randomness that comes and goes?
It is usually a sign of growth, I believe.
My boobs hurt a lot after a hormone shot, the pain fades as I near the next shot, so it may be hormonal, but it really seems related to growth spurts.
It's random! Mine came in extremely fast and barely any pain at all at any point. Full B at 7 months
The growth seems to be in fits and starts and so is the pain but l, weeks with little pain can still be the weeks with the highest growth so I am not sure there is any direct connection between the pain and the growth.
Also intresting note I was sick a few weeks back, and I took aspirin that whole week. Not only was the pain mostly gone but, the tightness was too my breasts were soft and pillowy. They also grew about 1/8" that week so it didn't stop the growth at all. This really makes me think that the pain is some sort of inflammation and that this inflammation isn't required for growth.
I second what Jennygirl said.
I do have times where they are painful but it's not constant and is barable.
Nearing a C cup at 9 months now
It doesn't always mean growth, unfortunately sometimes they just ache. It is likely tied to your estrogen level though.
your name made me lol... cruise4burgers... hahahah
That's kind of a shame if it's just random, because I thought at least this discomfort would be for a better purpose. It still is, I guess, since it's a hormonal effect from the happy stuff. And I can't really complain since I've had significant growth shockingly fast.
Thanks for your replies and insights.
Probably just me but I think mine do growth spurts when the pain fades for a few days. It seems that I notice more of a weight change after a non-pain spell. At the moment, mine are painful around the edges - well, today it was everywhere else as well but noticeable at the sides.
I keep hoping it's a sign of growth, especially on my lagging left side. I keep hoping the tingling sensation that washes over them I sometimes get means something good too (I think it's blood vessels opening up)
I'm not sure my cup size. All I know is my breasts are mine and I love them. Even if they never get big enough for me to wear low cut tops.
If the amount of pain is proportionate to growth, then I should have d cups by now! It seems pretty random to me.
Some of the literature I have read says that it is linked with breast growth, a smaller proportion says that it isn't.
Mixing that together with what people say in general, it is a personal thing I think.
I've never actually felt anything that I would describe as pain while my breasts have been growing. But when my estrogen levels are within a good range, I do usually feel something like a dull burning sensation. It lets me know stuff is happening, even though it sure seems to like taking it's time...
I think it's just random... I had nothing like the pain some describe, only some achiness (and itching), but had VERY fast growth; I was a C cup at 3 months HRT. So I have to figure the pain is a sign of growth, but lack of pain/intensity of pain is luck of the draw and not correlated to how *much* growth, if that makes sense.
