My dad said that to me.
The first time he left, I was 14. He was in and out of my life on and off until I was 18. I haven't seen him since. I'm friends with him on Facebook (which is slightly awkward) but that's the only contact I've had with him for over 6 years.
I recently made a new account after coming out on my old one. He added me on my new account with my new name.
He said he was proud of me after I made a comment that I didn't care about other people's opinions about me.
Not sure why I'm posting this, exactly. The whole thing kind of seems surreal. It just felt really good to read those words from him. I miss him more than I realized.
