Title: Packers and STP information and opinions
Post by: BGking on July 05, 2014, 07:20:16 PM
Hey y'all so I've been considering the purchase of my first packer. I have one picked out, the Reelmagik basic packer. I've read some reviews and people seem to be satisfied with it. I've also got some boxer briefs without an opening and seem perfect for a packer. I've only packed with a rolled up sock and only when I am at the gym. I would just like to get some opinions from the community on how they pack and what it means while using public restrooms.
I think if I am going to purchase the reelmagik one and use my briefs that it would be a comfortable and realistic way to go about it. My only concerns are when I use public restrooms on campus and whatnot- I always use a stall and wait for everyone to leave before I pee. I imagine that if I have the packer then when I pull my pants down people will see it tucked into the pocket in my briefs. I'd rather not wear a jock strap because they look uncomfortable. This bathroom dilemma regarding a packer was making me wonder about STP. I mean like any transman we all want to stp. I've seen many STP devices and are wondering if they really work, and what y'all recommend. I also am questioning if you could use a STP as a packer for most of the day. I'm speaking in terms of preparation for my next semester. I'm on campus for probably 8 hours a day and am not sure if someone can wear a STP for that long or if they are hard. I'd like to have a bulge all the time with the exception of home but also it would be super if I needed to STP (even just in a stall) to have that option. Anyone have any recommendations and advice? Thanks guys!

I have a few different packers, the RM Basic being one. I still pack with a sock at the gym... I can't seem to get anything to look right in gym shorts.
To stand to pee, I just keep a medicine spoon in my pocket and use a stall. I have seen other men use a stall to stand to pee as well. I don't think anyone thinks it's that strange. I don't really see how anyone would see your packer in our pants if you use a stall.

I've also never really understood how someone could use an STP packer all day. Just seems uncomfortable.

Oh also about this subject! I completely forgot. Now that my top surgery is a few days away afterwards I will be able to go swimming and was wondering if there were any waterproof packers or alternatives? Sorry I forgot about that!

The RM should work for swimming. If you are worried about chlorine you could either use a Mr Limpy or a cheap silicone packer from Tranzwear (something like a Gecko). I think most packers are water proof, only problem might be a sock, but I guess they have been used.

I don't have a RM so I can't comment on that. I use my peecock all day. It's comfortable enough for me. It's soft enough that it sort of packs well. The only problem I've had is getting sort of moist down there. I don't think I was doing a good enough job of getting rid of excess.

I don't know about the RM either. But I have a Peecock and do wear it for long days (more than 8 hours at times). I think it's comfortable enough now I'm used to it. I forget it's there and it feels like a part of me.

Hey which peecock do you use? I saw a 3 in 1 on their site which functions for pack, pee, and play. Also saw some videos of it and it seemed soft enough to use all day. How do you keep it attached, do you use like packing underwear or a harness?

Hey, thanks! I still relatively new to packing so you and everyone else's answers are truly appreciated. Also how do you like to keep your packer attached? Anybody have a favorite device for that? I really like the idea of packing underwear because it seems comfortable and efficient. I suppose the only problem with underwear is while swimming; it might come out or get re-positioned in an unnatural way like if you jump into a pool or whatnot. LOL definitely don't want that happening! I've never worn a jock strap because they look very uncomfortable and people could probably seem them in swim trunks. The Geckos look nice for swimming, now just to figure out how to hold it place! :P

Hey, thanks for the response! Which peecock do you use? If its the 3 in 1, do you find it very effective for STP. I don't want to get one that leaks and makes it extremely difficult for a urinal. Although any STP device will take practice to master that. I hope I can feel the same way about feeling like it is part of me.

I use the peecock gen 3 in 1, I have the smallest version and for me it's quite easy for stp. I use it at urinals. I have noticed that the opinions on the peecock are pretty split down the middle, either it works for you or it doesn't.  For me it worked after some practice. I use the jockstrap harness and I don't think it's uncomfortable.  I just wear boxers over it.

I was thinking you meant a packer not a prosthetic. That is a packer that is worn in some way off your body (harness, in your briefs, in some kind of pocket or sock, in packing underwear). If it actually is worn on you (a prosthetic) then you just wear and be sure that you rinse and wash it very well for the chlorine. (I don't think they can be worn in a hot tub). If I pack it has to be away from me. I wear in jock strap over underwear (which obviously is not a stealthy thing). For swimming you can do one of several things: wear speedos or other kind of situation where you'd have a pocket or pouch (or make one), a jockstrap (you're swimming it's not like forever, actually they aren't so bad), a sock or whatever to hold inside your trunks.
The Gecko couldn't be attached to you. I believe there is no tab and not sure if it is pure enough silicone to do this anyway.  (The RM makes a basic packer and a basic prosthetic so not sure which someone has here was assuming it was the packer.)

Ah yes, sorry I meant a packer. I'm not looking for a prosthetic. I'd like to pack everyday for school and believe the RM would suite me best, as I like detail and it looks pretty realistic. I've read some reviews and most people seem to think it passes the feel test. I've been contemplating making a purchase of the basic packer for quite some time now (before I put up the thread lol) but I was just curious about the options we have for packers, STP, swim packers and their functions.
I apologize because I have been very confusing and not fully explaining what I mean. I suppose I mean something like: What options are there to hold a packer? I'm aware of a jock strap, harness? (not sure if that is the same as the jock strap), packing underwear, and boxer briefs without an open hole to hold them. I have a bunch of boxer briefs without an open-able hole which I think would be perfect for holding a packer. But as you said, you don't like having yours against your skin and my briefs would only allow me to hold it against my skin. I'm not sure if I'd have an issue with that. Why don't you like having it against you, if you don't mind me asking. Just curious as I've never packed with any kind of product designed for it.
With each option for holding them, what are the advantages/drawbacks you've discovered? Such as, when you're going to the bathroom (Packers, not STP), do you have to take the holder off fully or un clip or just pull down, ect. If my briefs idea work, then I'd have to pull my briefs down along with the packer which brings me to the concern that someone could see the packer tucked into them under the stall gap. (Thinking about this in a public situation) So any input on bathroom usage and any cons/pros to the methods for holders y'all have tried would be wonderful.
As for swimming, the same things as the second question but in the swimming scene. :P I suppose, not too worried about it being destroyed just being outed by it.
I was just asking about the STP for more info in general because it sure would be nice to do that and perhaps I will look into one after I've found a packing method.

Another option is a "c*** sock" type arrangement. They actually sell these, but you can easily diy. Simple get a sock, place the packer in there and see where you need to cut off and then you cut. I have many single socks as I dry my socks in a dryer, so I always have plenty of socks for this. You can pin inside your underwear. I think it works reasonably well. If you don't quite understand what I'm suggesting there are several videos on how to do this. You can cut a hole for the packer but you don't need to.

Some people take old underwear and put a hole for the packer and use a ring to make the opening. This is another option, kind of like the rodeo packing underwear. There are several good videos on youtube. I think actually uppercase chase has one that is fairly hilarious. I think this would be a nice option for the RM. It's heavy and you have to support it.
