My area hurts now, been 5 nights on starting low dose of spirolactone. this is all I am taking at the moment that was prescribed. It is the same feeling as if you had relieved yourself too much at once. Just concerned this is not normal. If it is? How much longer? Its just a slight chronic pain in groin area
I never had that issue myself. All I noted was a decrease to zero in sperm and shrinking of the testicles. No pain at all. I don't think it would be out of the question though. A low dose and for only 5 nights I don't see this as being normal on the other hand. Possibly if you were dehydrated. :)
I've had that on occasion, usually notice it more at night. Goes away, but worth a mention to your endo at your next visit.
I experienced the same, although it took longer than 5 days (I was only on half the usual starting dose).
I admit that I panicked & stopped Spiro completely for 5 weeks when I felt that my testicles were shrinking. This happened a couple of weeks after the pain started.
It took 5 weeks for my dysphoria to get to the point where I had to go back on the Spiro, although at an even lower dose. A low dose of Finasteride was also added at that point.
This was all between Jul & Sep 2013. It took until Feb 2014 to find the right balance of HRT meds.
When I started Spiro in December on the 2nd or 3rd night I felt that, but my doctor had told me to expect it. It would only last for a few minutes then go away. I also slept a lot more the first month or two on Spiro and drank water like a fish turning into a pee factory. Perfectly normal as long as it's not excruciating pain or long last and it did seem to happen more in the late evening and at night. In a few week they shrink significantly and it's so easy to tuck. At 3 months I could tuck and pass in a one piece swimsuit without an issue.
You do need to stay well hydrated and watch what you eat. If you Google spiro you'll find plenty of foods to cut back or best avoid.
I never had your prob, just leg cramps at night. I am on a really low dose now compared to years ago when I first was on it. No prob with cramps if I heed my own advice above
I was about a week on Siro, E and Finasteride and I had a lot of feeling. Not pain or discomfort just a feeling.
The doctor said she won't give me finesteride unless my t levels were still high and since I'm not showing signs of hair loss k wouldn't need finesteride. Is that true? Btw the groin pain is nearly gone now. So that's good.
If your hair is good and your T drops low then you doctor is giving you good information. If you notice hair falling out then bring it up to the doctor. If you do not need Finasteride it is one less medication and no chances for the side effects.
