anyones taste in food change on hrt? I used to hate sea food (except fried fish*) Now I love fried shrimp. Im also addicted to Tuna, especially tuna melt sandwiches. And ill get on my knees and do lud things for pulled bbq pork sandwiches. I dunno why but I after 2 years on hormones im addicted to bbq food. I HAVE to have it
I started craving vegetables. Before HRT I would eat vegetables about half the time they were put on my plate. I'd much rather have had a bacon sandwich. Now I crave and actively seek out vegetables.
9 months for me and I struggle to keep on my diet plan. I've been doing better, but I tend to get crazy with hummus and spinach and artichoke chips and a variety of candy bars from a specialty store.
Sorry girls Chocolate. My estrogen fueled craving.
Since GCS it is still Chocolate but has added Hot fudge sundae with peanuts.
Grrrr....
I hate chocolate, before and after hrt. never liked it for some reason.
I seem to have, even less desire for carbs...I dunno, I would always prefer some pepperoni as a snack over some rice crispies treats, but now it is even more pronounced. They even had that lactose free ice cream I liked at the store on sale last week, and I was like "Meh, lets buy a whole salmon". Sugar in general seems to be holding less and less appeal to me. Though, fat seems to be holding just as much appeal as ever.
Immediately when I started I craved all the food in the world and ate a heck of a lot. Since then, my appetite has seemed to vanish almost completely and I don't eat a lot at all. It's associated with more than 6 months of actively dropping weight so maybe the habit has just stuck.
But other than that, I seem to want fresher and healthier food.
I started eating a lot too- then noticed I felt full much earlier. I can't eat a whole burger now- I feel stuffed.
For me I am craving "something"... but I have not placed my finger on what it is yet. White chocolate is close... I dislike chocolate and am intolerant to coco. Grrr... frustrating.

Damn, you know how to make a girl hungry.
I'm not yet on HRT but my food choices changed and I started to try to lose weight when I finally began to realize that I'm trans. I think it's because I finally began to love myself and care if I live a long full life.

LOL.
In my case I'm always craving chocolate in all its forms: nutella, squares, icre-creams, cakes...

I dont like sugary stuff but not outta health reasons, just never liked it. I like salty foods, As long as its iodized salt tho my dr told me I could have as much as I want since my iodine levels blow. I cant eat as much food as I used to be able to, but im hungry all the time now lol. Even after 2 years of HRT. and if I have a craving for somthing, I have to have it or all hell breaks lose XD
I got up late last night and gnawed chunks of a block of cooking chocolate. Seriously... wtf?
It is time for Thai. Love that spice.
I'm crazy about spicy food right now!
Hell, what diet? Thats impossible now, lol trying at least...
I now crave liquorice big time!!! Like seriously. And i will drive out any time of the day or night to get some. Its a must have when i get the craving (at least once every week or two)
Always liked it, but never had for years, until...
Chocolate, yes do get cravings now, but dont really enjoy it that much anymore, seems to taste different now.
I could never walk past ice cream. Now, no real craving for it anymore.
Crisps, yes, eat more now, but i take it as a salt supplement, for what spiro removes from my system.
I stopped smoking almost 2 months ago. Now my sense of taste & smell has gone thru the roof. I'm eating more than ever & tasting it. I do not think HRT has had any effect either way on food cravings. Not sure ?????
Tried licorice tea Alexis? Really yum.
I'm not on HRT yet, so I don't have any taste or craving changes yet. Luckily I love almost all kinds of food, so I will eat whatever I happen to stock the kitchen with. I'm already eating healthier because I want to lose weight, but the problem I still have is how much I eat. I'm always craving something. I don't care what it is. If that changes, then I'll be set.
I keep craving soy sauce... like, just soy sauce and rice, or soy sauce and sushi. That and shortly after I started HRT I tried humus and loved it, which is kinda weird because before it always tasted sorta like a bland tasteless boring kinda icky paste-thing... but after it had a bunch of complex flavors and things. Idk, I know a friend who went on estrogen who also started liking humus after as well...
I had and still have food cravings on certain foods I did not care of before. Hormonal changes will cause cravings of certain foods and a dislike of other foods liked before. My sisters went through that during pregnancy.

I remember very well that my taste for sweets went to almost uncontrollable levels during the first 3 weeks on blockers. Fortunately that returned to "normal" state later on.
However I did notice that I no longer have a problem with tomato sauce. I seriously used to hate that stuff but I really like it now. The same applies for white yogurt.
On the other hand my taste for cheese or biscuits/cookies with milk chocolate is lower. Other changes in my preferences are based that I'm watching what I eat since my food consumption dropped quite a bit (down to 1 lunch from previous 3 :-) ).
For dietary reasons (Less snacks between meals) I started eating oatmeal as breakfast , which I loved as a kid. Its filling, I dont need much and while they are still carbs they're burned more efficiently across the day
I still crave for Ben&Jerry's whenever I do groceries, some things never change ^^
sweet/sour candy has become an addiction
I never remember wanting candy this much this often :P
Pickles. Soup. Hot sauce, spicy.
Reese cups, Reese Pieces, just peanut butter and chocolate, or both in ice cream are cravings I have a hard time denying.

That's it... this thread is making me hungry for bad stuff. Gotta escape. :)

This. I'm stuffing myself constantly now. Hope it dies down soon, but the extra food coupled with the rapidly-diminishing strength and endurance (and consequently a huge decrease in my ability to exercise) is like a double whammy to my weight. :'(
Cheeeseeeee insasne amounts of cheeses.../
A cheesy pizza with Italian sausage and chicken on it, yum!

Chocolate. The darker the better! GAHHHHH.
I had a craving for plain chips yesterday. Luckily its gone now... Back to my regularly scheduled massive amounts of fruit!
