I don't know if many of you know, but old spice is not that effective against armpit odor. When I was a teenager my mom bought me old spice and it did not work. For weeks I stink and she always told me to put on deodorant which I told her I did. One day I bought myself the ladystick deodorant and I was odor free which was completely amazing. Why do people sell old spice to men, if it makes men smell worse then they do now. Why not take the lady stick and make the picture look masculine. seems stupid to me.
Just a few weeks ago I switched to ultra max -arm hammer man deodorant because my mom told me to. She told me she was allergic to my deodorant. So now am back to using men deodorant. What's seems strange about this is when I put on the ladystick and perfume she does not notice my ladystick deodorant which is weird? I thought she was suppose to have a allergic reaction, but I got near many times. I put on the man deodorant just so she does not get mad. But wouldn't she have an allergic reaction anyway because plenty of people wear deodorant in public?
Also I ask my mom if she puts on deodorant and she says no - me speechless.

Do you have hairy underarms? If so the hair traps the sweat which then breeds bacteria and that is usually where the really stink comes from. Get rid of the hair and or use a solid white deodorant preferably with cornstarch. You can alos use deoderant like Arid and use baby powder with cornstarch. Get rid of the hair and the deodorant will work a lot better. Just get ready 'cause it is hell the first couple of weeks.
My arms are not hairy and I find that my armpits stinks regardless if I shave completely or not

Yeah well I would suggest using women's deodorant that may be non scented? And or definately something with cornstarch in it.
Your body chemistry may be at cause here. From what you say changing brand is what probably does the difference. And frankly, lol, old spice is a running gag morE than a serious brand
I tried many brands of women deodorant, but my mom says she is allergic to the powder in the women deodorant.
I believe that it is the powder in the women deodorant that reduces my odor. I guess you can say that my armpit does emit more odor because of genetics, but isn't it the same for all biological men. I guess some stink less then others.
I cannot think of any brand of women deodorant that I have not already try, but my mom hates.
Also lots of my male friends use old spice and they stink just as much as I do. So I do not think I stink anymore or any less then other guys.

I don't know if it is gentic or what. Could be biochemical. Do you sweat profusely from your underarms? More so than other's? You may have a condition called hyperhydrosis. If it is that bad then they can remove the sweatglands from your underarms in severe cases. I have hyperhydrosis and body hair kills me. Other people will be bone dry and I'll look like I got caught in a rainstorm. I don't stink but I do break out especially on the thighs and under the arms if I don't get rid of the hair. Maybe ask your doctor, there could be some prescrition strenth deodorants that your mom may not be allergic to.
Back when I was pretending to be a guy I always used the unscented white solid deodorant sticks and most of them held up all day. I used mostly speed stick and old spice. I've since switched to secret unscented solid white deodorant and shaved my armpits and that works really well also. Just keep trying different ones until you find something that is compatible with your body chemistry.

Lol lets put this in context
You tell her you use woman's deodorant : she is allergic
You use it and don't tell : she shows no sign of being allergic
Hmmmmm leaves to thinking. ;D
Its weird, the only deodorant that makes me smell really good is women deodorant. a lot of people complimented me on how good I smell.
But when I use men deodorant, People stay fifty feet away from me.
also as far as I know I do not have any genetic disease which causes me to sweat profusely and make my armpit stink. Never had that problem when I was a kid. Everything is pretty normal when I use lady stick. My step dad has the same problem and uses lady stick like I do.
To be honest I have been using lady stick behind my mom back so that I wouldn't stink. But if she ever finds out she would be so mad.
My mom might be allergic, but I do not know if she is using this against me because she knows that am a transsexual
Old spice always worked fine for me before. The only problem I've had with it is a recent skin reaction, which also now happens with any deodorant similar to it. My skin starts peeling... so gross. I haven't had the problem with other types of sticks. I'm relieved that using women's deodorant is actually a health benefit for me now. I didn't even plan that part.
Ok So your stepdad uses women's deodorant? Does she complain about him using it? It would seem to me that she would complain more about him using it than you since she probably sleeps with him. I would use it and not worry about it. Use the same thing your step dad uses. Duh Duh Duh. Dramatic music effects. Hide it, don't let her find out. It sounds kind of like you may be right and she is being overdramatic especially since your stepdad uses it and she has no problem there.

What I think too. Sounds like your mother is allergic to the idea of you wearing women's deodorant.
Well, I guess I keep using the same deodorant, but if my mom ever found out she will definitely be heated.
I don't even leave my deodorant in my drawers. instead I put them inside my backpack when I go to college. At random times she checks my room for stuff that I should not have - I don't pay rent - her home, her rules.
though, I don't think that includes what deodorant I have to wear.
When she first came to me about my use of female deodorant, she looked very serious. so I took her seriously. My stepdad sided with my mom too. and soon after my dad started using male deodorant. For the first few times I use ultra hammer and to my surprise it actually works. not completely, there is still a faint odor that you can smell only if you com directly in contact with my armpits - you literally have to have your face next to my armpits to smell that faint odor. That is definitely better then old spice. No one will ever tell I smell with ultra hammer.
Still I like the female deodorant because it takes away the smell completely and give me a fresh nice scent that smells good.
Doesn't the hormone testosterone cause you to smell bad too. I took sex ed years ago and the teachers say that male hormone give men a stronger odor then women who have estrogen hormone. Probably, once
I get estrogen flowing through my body, I might be able to put on old spice like you guys and not smell bad at all.
I'm going to have to agree with others, sounds like your mother doesn't like you using female deodorant, rather than the powder in it.
If she says that it's just the powder she is allergic to, you could try a cornstarch deodorant like Nourish Organic Deodorant <-- I've never used that personally, just googled a cornstarch deodorant since I know you can use cornstarch rather than powder or something like that.
Now if something like that doesn't work or your mother finds out and is not okay with it, there are many other things you can try for persistent BO. I have definitely had my troubles in the past with the same issue! For me, it seems like deodorants just stop working over time. I don't sweat excessively, but after a few weeks of use, the deodorant just doesn't cut it anymore. I've even tried the prescription strength stuff and that even putters out eventually. I've found that if I rotate between high quality deodorants, it can reduce the problem dramatically. Another thing I tried for a while was lemon juice. If you use a cotton ball and dab lemon juice onto your armpits after a shower, you will be free of BO. The only downside of this is that it does nothing to stop the sweat, just the odor. And it leaves my pits a lil sticky. I've also read that you can replace using lemon juice with apple cider vinegar mixed with water (a 1:1 ratio), or isopropyl alcohol. If you have issues with scent staying on your clothes after washing, you could try the apple cider vinegar/water in a spritz bottle and lightly spray pit areas before laundering.
Hope any of this information can help you. I know from personal experience how much BO sucks!!! Good luck!
My suggestion is to try to take the labels off of the deodorant an switch them. Another option is if you can get a locker at school (some colleges have this option) you could store it their when your not at home.

This ^^______^^ makes much more sense to me. I have to agree with others here that it sounds like your Mom is allergic to you using a woman's brand deodorant. If I were you I'd keep using what works, and either keep it in your locker at school or switch the labels on it if it's possible. You could also make sure you have two sticks of the brand that works and leave one at school. That way if she does by accident find one of them you'll always have the other.
I've never had any hair under my arms, nor do I sweat there very much. In fact, I don't wear deodorant. I simply don't have to. But, I am highly allergic to anything with musk in it. So most men's deodorants and colognes make me gag to a point I can't breathe and if it comes in contact with my skin I'll break out in hives.
Best wishes! :icon_bunch:

I always found Old Spice worked for me, but that's me.
The thing is that most women's versions are an *antiperspirant* as well as a deodorant - they stop you from sweating to some degree as well as deodorizing what sweat does exist. So I'm not surprised they're more effective. My wife is allergic to most scented deodorants (I used to have to put mine on right before I left the house, without getting near her), but they definitely make unscented women's products. I use one now. You don't necessarily need the powder, but make sure you get one that says antiperspirant as well as deodorant.
It's also certainly possible to have an allergy to one product but not another, yet I do agree that not *noticing* when you have it on is suspicious.
