I will start this off.
"Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another." —Nelson Mandela

"It is your prime responsibility to acquire useful knowledge from others and to apply it appropriately. You don't have to reinvent the wheel, but you do have to learn from those who did." —Gary Ryan Blair

Today i think i will add this poem.
By Melantha Abraham
She hides her face
when shes not alone
she wears a mask,
but its not her own
It's everyone else
she wants to be
Be just like them
supposedly free
Free from the troubles
the troubles of life
free from sin
and worries and strife
But when night time falls
and she climbs into bed
her mask falls apart
and her heart fills with dread
She screams and she cries
but no one can here
she wants them to know
know all her fear
Her fear of facing
a world with no mask
afraid they wont like her
afraid they wont ask
So she waits for the day
with hope in her heart
when she'll wear her own face
and make her new start
Make today your new start and ware your own face with pride.

"Now is the moment. Act in harmony with your values, no matter what or whom you face. When you do, you will live with integrity and feel free and at peace." —Mary Mackenzie
Words of wisdom I may or may not follow.
Stay out of trouble. Although I heard a coworker of mine telling someone else that I have always been in trouble since the day I was born.
Been away for a little so here is a new one.
"Virtue means doing the right thing, in relation to the right person, at the right time, to the right extent, in the right manner, and for the right purpose. Thus, to give money away is quite a simple task, but for the act to be virtuous, the donor must give to the right person, for the right purpose, in the right amount, in the right manner, and at the right time." —Aristotle
This is for my best friend Rose.
She has been in a hard place all weekend and it has brought to me so much emotion.
Been hard trying to help her from a far.
As I think of our friendship, I begin to see
Mere words can't describe what you mean to me.
When this cold, hard world has me lonesome and blue
I look up to see my angel, my sweet angel, you.
You dry the tears that fall from my eyes.
You bring me sunshine to brighten my sky.
You rescue me when I'm scared and alone
And take my hand to lead me home.
No matter the miles that keep us apart
We're always together in each other's hearts
Sometimes we take for granted, I fear,
The ones who are so close and dear.
We get so caught up in life and things we must do
Sometimes we forget to stop and say I love you.
If ever you felt I forgot or didn't care
Let me stop right now, my true feelings I'll share.
You're the sun in my sky, the bed where I lie.
You're the home where I'm safe, the field where I play.
You're everything I am, everything I do.
So what I am saying is I LOVE YOU!

"The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible -- and achieve it, generation after generation." —Pearl S. Buck

"I believe each individual is naturally entitled to do as he pleases with himself and the fruits of his labor, so far as it in no way interferes with any other man's rights." —Abraham Lincoln
"Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible, and suddenly... you are doing the impossible." —Francis of Assisi
here's a good one and has become one of my favorites by a free lance poem writer:
In time,
Things come
Things go
With love,
Leaves fall
Leaves grow
The morals of life,
Have no beginning
Though it seems the trials
That we face,
Have no ending
Words said to hurt,
With thoughts made to
Kill
The only way to express
a pain that I feel
Just let it go...
by Durwin Davis
"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite." —Nelson Mandela
Have... a good time... all the time. - Viv Savage, This Is Spinal Tap
"When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities." —Dalai Lama
"You must take personal responsibility.
You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself." —Jim Rohn
"Man's greatest actions are performed in minor struggles. Life, misfortune, isolation, abandonment and poverty are battlefields which have their heroes - obscure heroes who are at times greater than illustrious heroes." —Victor Hugo
"Now is the moment. Act in harmony with your values, no matter what or whom you face. When you do, you will live with integrity and feel free and at peace." —Mary Mackenzie
When we feel strong and well, it is easy to forget about our own frailties and also the misfortunes, troubles, and sicknesses of others. We are only as strong as is our compassion for those who are weak. For in strength must come the power of understanding and the wisdom to act with gentleness and kind concern for those who are not able to help themselves. It is in the ability to empathize that we show true insight and in the ability to aid that we show our real gifts. These are the real hallmarks of true compassion and strength.
