Well looks like I'll be confirming a surgery date with T-Change tomorrow hopefully. It took a while to come through, but I must say out of all the consults I've had, there's was the most informative, personalised and reflective of what I do, and do not need done (imo). Some have recently mentioned booking with them on here too but they unfortunately haven't resurfaced, so it might be up to me to give some feedback on Javier and the team lol. I'm looking at pretty much getting the full FFS works done including a revisional rhinoplasty, so should be a good test case to see what they can do.
I know he's new, so am a little worried but he does seem to be a very medically very capable and experienced surgeon from what I can see, so that is the main thing for me, I'm just hoping the aesthetic result will also be good.
As for my main reasons, see below:
-He does indeed seem to be a proper maxillofacial surgeon compared to many that are really plastic surgeons only.
-Very good, detailed, personalised, realistic consult.
-Price is very competitive, as I am going back to do post grad study next year, I need to have surgery this year or wait at least another two years.
Well I will let you know when I confirm (within the next few days hopefully), and after I do, I promise to keep you all updated along the way! Just hoping I can do as good of a job as Roni did with here Cardenas thread! Loving her new look : )
ps, I forgot to ask them where they perform their surgeries and I can't seem to see it on their site, does anybody know? I'll make sure to confirm that before booking..
Olivia
Hi Olivia, I have had a quote from T.Change for the full works [all revisional], and their prices are very competitive. I was kinda waiting for someone else to go first and report back. I am so impatient about getting this aspect of my transition completed that I don't think I can wait any longer. I'm looking into a supposed "top surgeon" In Athens, Greece, but if I go to him, it would just be the same as me going to T.Change, to have surgery with Javier Rossi. They are both unknown quantities. I am again, and like you, going to have to take a chance, A "Leap of Faith". I would like to think that "Fortune favours the Brave", but it doesn't, or at least it didn't, when I went for surgery in Mexico. The surgeons prices in Greece, are also very competitive, just a bit more than T.Change. I will definitely be making my decision soon. The price I've had from T.Change will be held to the end of this month, as long as I book and pay a deposit by then, then it doesn't matter when I schedule the surgery for. We might end up in Buenos Aires at the same time. It all depends if the Koreans ever get back to me, and if the Greek deal does or doesn't happen. We will have to keep an eye on each others posts, coz you never know..................
P.S. If Greece and Korea don't work out, then I may pay more than double the money that T.Change are going to charge me, and go to Dr DiMaggio, to be sure that I get the right results this time.

Dear Girls,...FFS is a mayor procedure in plastic and craniofacial surgery...should not be a matter of luck or not to cross your fingers, or go with the cheapest.
It should be a choice of surgeon with experience and ability more than anything else.
Hugs.

Hi Samantha, unfortunately for those of us who struggle to make ends meet, going to the cheaper surgeon is the only way. Having said that, I have heard that on this site you are are keenly supportive of MDM, which is okay, I think what I've seen of his work he must be a fantastic surgeon. If I can get enough money together I would like to go to him, but then again if I could get even more money together I could go to Brian Musgrove in Manchester, England, and if I had a mountain of money I could go to Facial Team in Spain [They are probably the best at the moment]. Do you see what I'm getting at, it all depends on what finances you have at your disposal. I'm guessing your post is not an offer to pay for my FFS [I wish!!], so I would gracefully ask you to step off of your high horse, and get real. All said and done I do agree with you, but after my disaster at the hands of the "Mexican Butcher, The Muppet Man" [not mentioning any names], I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I think you really should look into Rossi if money is this limiting right now teardrops, it's really the only option for you and I wouldn't even give Femilife a thought after things I've read and heard, after all Rossi IS an FFS surgeon... Argentina and Brazil are apparently some of the more advanced South American countries too so... I don't know tho ppl keep saying he's only low priced cause of introductory prices, you may have to catch him before they go up... I'm glad lemon ice started this thread :)
Thanks Carly, I hope my experience will be at least helpful to others : ) I promise to keep this thread up to date! It looks like I'll be booking for mid October (4 days before my 31st birthday, Happy B-day to me lol), so there may not be a lot to see here until then, but will definitely post anything relevant up to then
Samantha, I appreciate your concern, however I think all surgeries carry a level of risk, so in other words are a matter of luck no matter how experienced the surgeon. From what I can see however, Javier at T-change has a solid background and a lot of experience in maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, even if he has only recently made his debut in commercial FFS proper. A different proposition completely to Femilife, the things I've heard (I'm sure we've all heard) about them are just absolutely terrifying. Also its not a matter of being cheap, its a matter of getting FFS or not getting FFS, I just can't accumulate the cash I need for the other surgeons before I need to take up my post grad study scholarship next year. I spent a lot of time of time recently doing the numbers, and short of prostitution, that's the situation.
Teardrops, good luck to you : ) I do admire how much effort you're putting into researching less well known surgeons in other parts of the world, I definitely understand your motivation. It seems there are a relatively small number of well known but high priced surgeons who specialise in transgender FFS, but I'm sure there are a great number of surgeons worldwide with great maxillofacial skills who could do an excellent job. : ) Well if you do go to MDM, I'm sure you will be happy. They were very good to deal with, with excellent communication quality and speed. Their price was very reasonable too I thought. Believe it or not, TransOp (Cardenas) quoted approx. US$4000 (excluding accommodation at their recovery residence) more than MDM for a pretty comparable list of surgeries which was surprising. They were also the only ones to not recommend the type III brow reconstruction for me. Anyway, take care and good luck : )
I had my full FFS with Dr. Rossi and T-Change on July 8, 2014. I can tell you for a fact that he is a highly skilled Surgeon and the results of the surgery surpassed my wildest hopes and expectations. He is a compassionate physician with a wonderful bed side manner. He is not just a surgeon, but truly an artist when comes to creating the female face. I can't recommend him enough and sincerely believe is the best you are going to find worldwide. Good Luck!
Sincerely,
Brieanna E. Brooks
Wow, thank you Brieanna, that's great to hear! I'm glad things have worked out so well for you, I hope you're recoving well : )
Well I just booked and paid for my flights yesterday (almost 20 hours each way uggh, NZ isn't close to anywhere lol), and also paid the deposit to T-Change last night, looks like I'm all set for the 15th of October.
So thanks for your fabulous timing with you post Brieanna, it was a very nice thing to wake up to see!
Hi,
I have absolutely no opinion about Dr Rossi one way or another and can only be happy for those who have the opportunity to avail of the services of a surgeon who is trying to gain recognition, it could be a very good bet.
However, having gone through a very full FFS, I am very reserved, if not to say downright sceptical, about posts like that of Brienna2014: first post out of the blue (not so much as an introduction beforehand) and already talking about results of a full FFS "surpassing wildest expections" only 11 days post surgery.
Since it takes weeks if not months to be able to make a realistic judgement about a full FFS, either Dr Rossi has come up with some very innovative surgical procedures or Brieanna might just be getting ahead of herself. Maybe some before and after photos Brieanna?
Best regards
Donna
I too just returned from Argentina and July 2nd FFS with Dr. Rossi. In fact, I was in the same apartment building as Brieanna, a girl from Georgia and another from London. The friendship was VERY helpful in our collective recoveries.
Dr. Rossi performed the following procedures:
1. Type-3 forehead reconstruction.
2. A slight lip lift.
3. Chin reduction
4. Neck & face lift
The chin is still a bit swollen after 3-weeks, but my new forehead and rest of my face are incredible. Amanda and Dr. Rossi are a wonderful team who not only listen, but they offer great advice too, in case you're unsure about what procedures you need.
I have some great before & after 2-weeks photos, and as soon as I figure out how to upload them, I'll do so. I also told Amanda, she can use my pics on her website.
Diane
Wow, thanks Diane! That's great to hear, hanks for the update : )
I hope you're healing well and pain free.
Well it sounds like you had a great trip, I'll have to enquire privately about where you stayed, it sounds like a great location and really nice that there were some other patients there too!
Well I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the photos : )
Take care, Olivia.
Well I'm still on for the 15th of October with T-Change : ) I'm just trying to find a few fun things to do in Buenos Aires/Argentina now as I decided to spend a month there so should have a little time when I'm mostly recovered for a wee holiday : )
So I thought I'd better put a pic up of what they are having to deal with. Please don't judge, this is me just prior to starting HRT about two months ago, my apologies on the quality and subject, this is not who I see in my mind.. I'm still growing my hair, it's the thing I really wish I started doing earlier, but other things seem to be slightly improving with HRT too (lips and eyelashes I've noticed so far). I promise to take some better pics prior to surgery : )

Well looks like I'll be confirming a surgery date with T-Change tomorrow hopefully. It took a while to come through, but I must say out of all the consults I've had, there's was the most informative, personalised and reflective of what I do, and do not need done (imo).
I'll second that. I'm in the midst of making a final decision as to what surgeon to go for, and out of all the online consultations that I've had so far, T-Change offered the most detailed and personalised response. They haven't tied to sell me on procedures that they think I don't need either.
Anyway, a warm thanks to everyone here in the FFS sub-forum. It's been in an invaluable resource.
I recently came across a post that doubted the sincerity of my post concerning my recent FFS procedure with Dr. Rossi and T-Change and I want to set the record straight. I am not a " plant " that Dr. Rossi are T-Change have put on this forum to promote his practise. I am in no way being compensated any way to promote them. My testimonial and anything I post is sincere and of my own volition. I do not believe that " I am getting ahead of myself ".Yes it has only been a month since the surgery, the results have been dramatic and positive nonetheless. I firmly stand by what I posted originally. I have gone from " passing " as female only 5% of the time to nearly 99% of the time since the surgery. That in itself speaks volumes about his surgical skill and artistry. Here is a list of procedures that Dr. Rossi performed;
1. Type 3 Forehead Reconstruction
2. Full Rhinoplasty
3. Lip Lift
4. Jaw Contouring and Reduction
5. Chin Reduction and Contouring
6. Tracheal Shave and Face/Eye Lift.
In the 30 days since the surgery, all the bruising has vanished and the only swelling left is a small amount in the chin. The right side of my forehead, tip of the nose and the chin still remain somewhat numb, and these are improving on a daily basis. He was very honest in his consultation concerning everything he was going to do and what I could expect during my immediate and eventual full recovery.
I have been informed by T-Change that all the before after photos will be available for viewing in a month, as their website is being redesigned at this time.
One final thought, being transgendered and having spent almost 7 years out in the open ( both privately, socially, and professionally ) I am hurt and somewhat offended that anyone would, or could think that I would intentionally mislead any of my transgendered sisters about something as important as the FFS. I can be reached at brieanna.brooks@yahoo. com if anyone has any questions or wants to know about my particular procedure. Thank you all.
Sincerely,
Brieanna2014
Thanks for your feedback Brieanna, I really do appreciate it :) I did believe you from the start, if that helps, but I can understand why others may have been sceptical. I guess FFS seems to be a pretty emotive issue which is kinda understandable in my opinion due to it's potential positive life changing effects, the consequences of it going wrong and the fairly large cost of the surgery... I have also seen some endorsements of dubious origin posted, and I know of at least one representative of a surgeon that is currently active in the FFS section who is making 'helpful' posts without disclosing their identity and agenda which I think displays very poor ethics on their behalf. I have no problem with the representatives of surgeons posting in this forum as long as they disclose who they are and who they represent; it can actually be rather useful and provide good info. So please don't take any comments above too personally, there is some reason for a heightened level of skepticism in this section unfortunately... :(
Well no major updates from me sorry, I'm trying to cram in as many hours of electrolysis as I can per week at the moment which is only 5-6 hours pw unfortunately as the only reasonable electolysist I can find in this town doesn't like to do more than an hour or so at a time, or work after business hours. I've managed to cajole her into 1.5-2 hours sessions now though and will keep trying for longer lol, so 3 sessions of 1.5-2 hours per week at the moment. I just cant get away from any more with work unfortunately.. I'm still saving all my pennies still to pay for everything, but I'm within US$1000 of paying the remainder of my FFS (yay!!), so just need a bit of money for accom. and food etc. while there.. which should be no trouble between now and mid October : ) I can't wait to finally be there really. Thanks again Brieanna for sharing your experiences, it's very reassuring : )
Claire
Dear Lemon_Ice:
I want to thank you for your reply first and foremost. I do understand that the FFS procedure is a highly personal issue and decision. I am not a skeptical or pessimistic person by nature, but I am a cautious person in that I do a very thorough job of of researching any kind of undertaking of this nature. I crossed check T-Change and Dr. Rossi through a number of sources, including his professional credentials and that of his surgical team in Argentinian web sites. I could not find any discrepancies between what T-Change had on their web site and what my independent research showed. This doesn't include a number of phone calls between me and Amanda.
What this means is that I had no doubts or apprehensiveness about the legitimacy of T-Change and Dr. Rossi and left and went forward with the procedure with full faith and confidence. In the end, the individual will have to decide for themselves as to what they believe to be factual or false.
Again, thank you for the reply and I hope this helps.
Respectfully,
Brieanna Elaine Brooks
Thanks again Brieanna! :) Wow you really did your homework, I did look into Javier's credentials myself, but it sounds like you did a much more thorough job than me, which is reassuring to know. I'm so glad things went well with your surgery too :) , I hope the keeling process is still going well.
And I just noticed you're in Alaska! It's fun being fun being far away from pretty much everything huh, I'm currently in Dunedin NZ which is at about the opposite corner of the pacific as you lol.. How long was your flight to Buenos Aries? it's 16-18 hours with a stop in Santiago for me.. super fun lol.
Well I noticed that I had promised a more recent pre FFS photo previously in the thread, so here you are... I did already post this elsewhere in my 'X number of months HRT' thread too, I'll take another before I leave for Argentina in October too :)
Just like my avatar only bigger! lol

Well I thought I'd better up date this thread...
I'm leaving for Buenos Aires tomorrow on pleasant 16 hour flight (I live in NZ, so we are close to nowhere except maybe parts of Australia lol). Things are going really well and my situation has really changed since beginning to organise this trip. I'm out to practically everyone I know, I've changed my legal name and am living fulltime. I must say everyone has been so great, especially my family, me and mother are closer than ever which is great! She has even offered to fund my SRS/GRS and come over to Thailand with me for a week or two to help with the worst of post op recovery, so sweet :) So will hopefully be doing that by mid next year :)
As for T-Change, Amanda has been so great with everything and so helpful, any question is answered really quickly and informatively, she even helped me with some details about my accommodation, communication has just been generally great! So really happy with the service so far :)
I'm just in packing mode now and writing final lists, the what to bring thread in this FFS section has been really helpful! I'm bringing a little George Foreman smoothie blender too which I bought for this trip, so compact and works really well! I think I'll using it a lot once I'm back over summer too, I LOVE boysenberry smoothies! I'm loading up my new hard drive too, so will hopefully maintain my sanity while apartment bound :p
My appearance is still changing a lot due to HRT but really I'm only fixing my male type bone structures which I will always have a problem with, so I don't see an issue really -I want them gone for more than just aesthetic reasons too, so I'm personally happy with the timing. I'll insert a couple of recent photos below to help with pre/post op comparison:

Claire :)
Well I'm not sure if anyone is looking at my thread, hello if you are! lol.
Well I've been in Buenos Aires for a couple of days now, I have only looked around within a couple of blocks of where I'm staying, but its quite a nice area with so many shops and malls, some nice restaurants etc. so I'm happy :) Too bad about the all the dog poo on the side walks lol, they seem to really like dogs here...
Amanda who liaises with the clients etc. has been so cool and helpful, we've had some great chats too, she's also a trans woman so understands... She took me around today to get my blood tests, x-rays and ekg etc. plus took me to the supermarket :) So I'm pretty darn happy at the moment bar a few issues with the apartment which will be being fixed soon hopefully... the stove tried to electrocute me yesterday :/ and the hair dryer sucks :p
Well I'll be having my final consult in about 30 mins and then surgery tomorrow, wish me luck :)
Claire
Good luck sweetie! :D You will look awesome!
Aww thank you :) I really hope so! lol. Well I had my final consult this evening, Amanda and Rossi were great, I had a minor freak out just before leaving for it and kinda on the way too, the crazy Buenos Aires rush hour traffic did NOT help, but Amanda helped me calm down a lot :) I think I want to marry this woman!! Shes a pretty damn cool chick :)
Anyway I'm about off to bed, the next time I post will probably be a couple of days post surgery.
Claire :)
i hope everything goes well with your surgery hun :) keep us posted! i'm pretty sure your post op result is gonna be great.
i can't wait to be in Argentina for my ffs this december :P
hope everything goes well Claire, sending you lots of positive energy
i hope you are fine Claire, when you feel better , please tell us how it went.
Kisses :icon_chick:
Well thank you for the positive energy, I'm sure some of it must have made its way to me, as everything is going really well and I'm super happy :) so thank you!
Anyway the update... :P
Well I'm really happy with the people here, Rossi is great, his surgical assistants seemed very professional and the and I think the anesthetist is rather good I think, after 7 hours under, waking wasn't as bad as some 2-3 hour ops I've had.. The hospital is good too, nice rooms and modern looking, although they need to move on from the horrible old noisey through wall A/C units, and crumbly crusty bread stick things for my first post op meal (breakfast), how about some corn on the cob etc. while you're at it too lol.
So surgery went very well (as far as I know) with no problems or major complications and I am healing ridiculously fast, Amanda tells me I am faster than usual, so maybe I'm just lucky. Pretty much all the swelling is gone from my upper face and just the lower half is a bit puffy, my top lip is a bit numb still due to this but I'm getting feeling back as it goes down.. it looks so luscious now though! lol, but I'd rather be able to drink a coffee without it dribbling down my chin :P My forehead, brows and eyes look really nice, the cast comes off my nose tomorrow, but the signs are good there, I can see the bridge flows into my brow just seamlessly.
They have done some amazing work on my chin too, it already looks good, but when I feel how much swelling is still projecting, I know its going to be a lot more compact than it is now... As far as I can tell my face is now pretty well unclockable already, I get looks but I have a nose cast and black eyes, on an otherwise tall pretty girl (I hope I'm not sounding to arrogant or anything, I'll leave others to judge when I put some pics up, hopefully tomorrow- I forgot my usb cable to link my phone to my laptop, I'll try and get a before and after nose cast removal tomorrow..), it's just a sense.. I get positive attention from men, and friendliness from random woman which is a lot diffterent to 2 weeks ago, when I looked ok from the front, but I could tell a lot of people we're still clocking me due to my profile... I don't sense this now. And god I love finally seeing eyes being all open properly and so cute :)
So I'm a very happy camper so far.. the only tiny issues are that I'm still not sure about the lower tip of my nose.. maybe as the swelling goes down it will improve (I have/had a very long septum which has been hard to deal with- this was not my first rhinoplasty... definitely the best so far though! I think I'm done with it now, no mater how it goes lol, I'm probably to a harsh critic of my own nose), and I would like to improve the shape of my hairline with implants at some time.. mine is/has always been very low so problem there, they improved the shape a bit, and I have no visible incision on my forehead which is nice though, and the way I style my hair you never see the two areas that annoy me anyway.. I would rather this than complicate more important aspects of the surgery anyway.. so a nice-to-fix in time if it bothers me maybe.. :)
So I'm really happy.. I had the best pasta I've ever had last night as belated birthday dinner (my birthday was the 19th :) ) so that was nice, and I'm getting out and about doing little exploring for short periods, although I'm trying to avoid the head as it does my swelling no favours.. I'm currently looking for a cute parasol/umbrella to protect me from the sun too..
Last but not least, I must mention Amanda, the trans woman who run this whole thing, she is amazing- I love her to bits, she just makes everything work and is just a cool person that I've come to really admire. She a credit to transwomen everywhere, she works so hard but she really cares.. This probably all sounds too positive in this kinda jaded industry, I'm not sure how to prove I'm genuine,, take it or leave it I guess.

Hello Claire! So happy to read you again here :D . I hope you are great.
Well here are a couple of terrible selfies I took on my phone just prior to removal of my nose cast on Friday night, so about 9 days post op. I apologise for the bad lighting an angles etc. I'll try and take a few better and more recent ones if I can find anywhere with decent lighting... it's all really dim around where I am for some reason.. and maybe someone to take them to reduce fish eye effect etc. I might have to resort to using a brightly lit shop or something lol. I still have a lot of swelling in my chin/jaw area so, please make allowances for that, but when I feel where the bone is now, I can tell it's a huge improvement. Well here goes..:

Hi there!
You're looking great for 9 days post-op and I'm really impressed by the chin. Very happy for you and also for others as it can only be good for everyone to have another competent surgeon offering his services.
Also, assuming you see Amanda again, please say hello to her for me. You're right, she's a great lady and I'm really glad to see that her new venture is getting off to a good start.
Wishing you all the best for a very happy recovery!
Donna
P.S. It would be really great for everyone if you posted standardised before and afters when you have recovered enough ie. front & profile with no makeup and similar lighting for both sets of pictures.
Thanks Donna :) I'm really happy too, as far as I can tell, he is a very good surgeon and very professional. I think Amanda is quietly quite happy with the change in surgeons, Rossi is the real deal in maxillofacial surgery here in Argentina, plus he is a very pleasant man which makes things much easier I think :)
I am apparently healing abnormally quickly for some reason, but my pain is persisting longer than usual, maybe I'm just a wuss, but our bodies are all different I guess.
I will definitely see Amanda again, she actually just left my apartment, and I'll be seeing here again tomorrow, she really is great huh :) I make sure I pass on your greetings and good wishes :)
Thank you, I'm mostly coping well with things and staying happy mostly, although I had a bit a down day yesterday.. I bought icecream and that helped at least I'm ashamed to say lol.
Yes I will try to take some before and after shots, I might have to twist Amanda's arm as it's not really possible to do myself. I do tend to wear a little bit of akeup in the chin area due to and electrolysis disaster about 6 weeks ago which is gradually improving.. and I think will be ok eventually hopefully, but I will keep it to a minimal amount of foundation in that area if that's ok.
The main thing I love is how my eyes look now, so open an pretty :)
Hello Claire! Girl you look awesome after 9 days post-op. Thank you for share your transition with us. Is very helpfully :D.
Best wishes.
Hi Claire, have you managed to take in any of Buenos Aires yet? Oh, its Me, the person from London, who had surgery just before you, I took you to the supermarket. Have you been to the Saturday night Tango show at the Pacifico yet, its the best. Did you get to visit the Teatro Colon. Have you already written about previously, somewhere else on this thread???

Yes I remember. No I'm not yet two weeks post op and still feeling a quite frail, I find the heat a little oppressive too and it causes me facial pain and does no favours for my swelling, so I'm being very careful and only going for short trips away from the apartment. I may start doing more once I feel a bit better and more confident, I would like to go on maybe a winery tour or something as a day trip maybe if I'm feeling up to it before I go home.
Claire.

Awww!! You look so adorable & cute, I just wanna hug you :icon_chick: Your eyes are so much more emphazised and they are so beautiful! Pre-op I they weren't as noticeable!!
what an amazing difference, so happy for you
Thank you all for you kind word and wishes :)
I am quite happy about how it's gone, I'm not sure about my nose- I have always rather hated it all my life and I'm very sensitive and critical of it still, it seems ok when I look at it most times lol.
I have also been battling a bit of post surgery depression and a real feeling of worthlessness, I feel so narcissistic even mentioning as I know we all go through some very tough times... I think it might be a combination of being far away from friends and family during an emotional time, having no one to talk to, and maybe missing a bit of routine ie work.. I don't know,. I'm also overdue for another IPL visit, I had to stop to make sure my skin was ok for surgery and facial hair is coming back with the new growth cycle which I really hate.. I'm having some long plucking sessions to keep it under control before I can resume IPL.. What doesn't help is the kind of light I have in the bathroom, its very directional and harsh, which makes me look horrible, until I see myself in a mirror somewhere else and I look fine.
I'm sorry to sound maudlin and ungrateful.
I did have a nice experience today though, on the way back fro popping out for a little take out lunch and a trip to the pharmacy, two large Argentinian guys were going into the apartment building just in front of me, they was me and held the door, allowing me to enter first, and then the same for the lift (most lifts have the old fashion manual doors here), which was really lovely and brightened my afternoon. I was rather afraid at first, but they were very courteous.. so I guess I'm probably passing which is nice :)

Thanks Aurora :) I want to hug you too :) I totally agree, it's really bought my eyes out and they seem a lot further apart as well as looking more open and bigger, it's probably my favourite change of all :) Thanks for noticing :)
Claire.
Amazing changes even early on.
Wonderful! any more recent photos of how it has been progressing?
Wonderful change, Although I've only just found this thread I've read it all and you doo seem to have covered most of the things I was thinking.
Hope you're still happy with the results and not being too hard on your nose
Hugs
Sorcha ;D
