Hello,
I am new to this forum but have been a member of another site for the last six months. I am, of course, feeling just a little lost in here right now. I was hoping to go into a chatroom but so far haven't found it. I'll keep looking and exploring as time allows.
My name is Faith and I am a transgendered person, MTF. Over the last six months I have learned some things from other great people that have been helping me cope with things. Of course, it has been a issue my whole life, but recently, over the last several years I have been forcing myself to deal with things more and more. In the last year I have finally decided that there is no other path for me but to accept and find some joy with myself.
I have started seeing a therapist. Have had three sessions so far. I have joined a Trans support group in a city about three hours from where I normally work and live. I have met some fabulous people online that have been very helpful. I don't really have anyone in my life that I can share with so as for personal friends, I am lacking in a big way.
My joys are music, I play the guitar and sing, and reading. I am a grade school teacher. I teach children in the elementary level. Currently I have a grade 3/4 split classroom.
I am really just trying to find some personal well being and a few more people to share and find support with.
hugs
Faith
Hi Faith,
Welcome to Susan's. There are a lot of caring people who regularly attend, and there are quite a few great discussion areas. My activity here has been mostly in the forum, a collection of wonderful meeting places (thanks Susan). You have made some very good choices, seeking the assistance of a therapist and connecting with a (more or less) local support group. I can tell you that you are not the only teacher here. That, of course, in addition to people from all walks and stations of life. It's a vibrant community and a great read. I hope to hear more from you, Faith.
hugs,
Welcome, Faith! I think you will find Susans to be a dynamic and interesting web site, full of optimism, hope, and help. That, at least, has been my own experience here.
Hi Faith :icon_wave: and welcome to Susan's. Here's a Big :icon_hug: from a new sister!
Welcome Faith to the forum,
Glad to see you have started with therapy and also the local support group.
Most of us end up sitting home alone way to much and fall fast in lonesomeness. Having a outside support group is a great way to get out and about in your gender.
I wish you well on you path, as others have said there are many here at all different stages of transition on both genders.
Hugs
Isabell
