Title: Since my hair got cut badly (follow on topic)
Post by: jaybutterfly on July 18, 2014, 04:52:44 PM
I've noticed a few things in my mood.

1. I have gotten super sensitive over my appearance, more so than I usually am. I actually felt ->-bleeped-<- the second my dad commented that my skin on my cheeks have gotten prickly and I snapped at him.

2. I feel worse looking in mirrors

3. Ive gone back to hiding my arms so my hair isnt obvious.

I think that pretty much shows my dysphoria triggers. Face as well as hips

Yes, I feel the same way when I have a bad haircut or supershort hair (that no female would wear).

I get more sensitve about my looks. Right now I have good hair (compare to what it was a month ago), but horrible skin.

Hair grows back. That's all I can say.

It's normal to feel more self-conscious in general when you have a bad haircut, especially when it constantly triggers your dysphoria, but it's also important to keep in mind that everyone has had a bad haircut in their lifetime, and it's not the end of the world. Hair does grow back.

Until then, you can focus your attention on other aspects of your appearance that you are unhappy with. If it's skin, you can try new face washes, or lotions. And so on. You could even try to work with your hair some if you're impatient.

If you want to feminize it, you have it easier..there are bows, and headbands, and flowers and clips. If you want to masculinize it, you could try some type of hats.

Either way, the point is that there's more that you can do. Try not to let it get you down too much :)
