So... I was thinking...
Anyone want to have a little get-together? I know there are a lot of us who live out on the west coast, and what better place than the beach to have a Fest? I'd be glad to help set this up. Last year was Portland... anyone have any interest in San Francisco?
Dino
Hey Dean,
Depending on the timing of it, I would most likely come to this. I'm planning on going up that way for a consult w/Ousterhout so that could work out perfectly. It sounds like a lot of fun!
I'd like to meet up, but I'm too far away.
Sorry :'(

Me too :(
I am pretty much booked up these days, but I may be able to find some free time depending on specific dates (the sooner I find out, the better) ;)

Sounds like we need a meeting in England soon :)

That would be great! :)
I'd be interested, if it was at a time and place that I could get to, definitely.

Yup... I'm on the east coast :(
Love to though if we had one out here!

I've already booked my holiday time for this year, but if it coincided, I'd make an effort to get there.

Only a ferry ride away for me, so I'd consider it 8)
It would depend on a number of factors. I may not be able to due to costs, but I won't rule it out. Also, the more people that go, the more likely I would too.
I would seriously consider attending an East Coast version of Susan's Fest.
Definitely.
hugs & smiles (would be fer real!)
Emelye
What exactly....goes on at a Susan Fest? LOL
Do all of the guys go off in a corner and drink, while the women mill around hoping someone will ask them to dance?
I'll tell you what I'd like to see. It would be fun for all of the guys to get together and go for a lapdance or some such thing, and then get together and play pool or darts and throw a few back. I'm not supposed to do that anymore, but I could make an exception.
Maybe the women could all get together and go to a spa or something?
What about a picnic or cookout or something like that?
I'm up in seattle so san fran is a little bit of a hike for me. But I'd give it serious consideration- I have family down there so I could always work in a visit with them and go to a susan fest. ^_-

That's what it is. Last year, we stayed in Portand from Friday to Monday, so we also ate out and visited some famous falls outside Portland. Overall it was a wonderful weekend. ;D
I don't think I will be able to make it this year since I have tons of things to do, but I will give it special consideration..

i'm all up for 'susanfest UK'

We had a picnic too. There's pics of last year somewhere in the galleries, I think. I still have pics I took at the falls on my phone too.

Wait a minute? How many guys showed up? You guys came to PDX and all you saw was Multnomah Falls? ::sheesh:: Come on back dudes. I'll show you the fun side of PDX. You can go out to hit the clubs and dance joints and stay out all night and never even see half of them here. We have more joints than anyplace else per capita. One of the only fun things about PDX.

I think it was 6 altogether. We did have 1 person under 21 though. You can still show me the fun side. ;) I probably don't even know half of the stuff that available.
I'm game for San Francisco. Not my town, but it is a swell place to be. Ya rake anything up, I'll be there.
Terri
I would love to come and meet everyone, however it's too far for me and I can't aford the air fare. :( But if the next one would be in New York or New Jersey or Pennsilvania then I would be intersted. ;)

Ya know. Since there are a bunch of us up here in the NW, we could car pool together and ride down to SF? It doesn't cost that much to rent a van for the weekend if you know the right peeps. I plan on running down there within the next couple of weeks anyway.
On that point [but off subject], anybody know anything about Sacramento? I hear the rents are cheaper than SF, lots of work available, and it is sunnier than the bay on the average.
I want Cali, sun, and heat. Suggestions? PM me please.
Looked at my holiday time and I could only make it if it was the weekend of September 7th.

Actually, that's a great suggestion. I could probably make it if that were the case.

Yes, it is fairly cheap to live around here and damn all this sunshine. I guess there is a lot of work around here, you just have to check around.
There are many Transsexuals here and easy to meet. There is a club here and it meets several times a month and has many interesting members, You would fit in here Top Brass.
Terri
Would love to make it, but the timing would have to be just right since it would be so far.

Wow I'd just love to do that, it would be really great to meet others, but sadly I'm here in England oceans away from the West Coast of the USA.

It sounds like there may be enough interest in the UK to have one over there for those that live there.
Just in case you don't know it exists *sighs*. For those of you who live in the East coast of this beautiful country of ours. There is a thing with wings called a plane. You board it and it takes you wherever you want. ::)
tink :icon_chick:
Count us in for a definite maybe on any east coast version.
Maybe I could get everyone up to the mountains for some activities like rafting, tubing, hiking for the outdoors folk and shopping/social stuff in Asheville.
Keep me in the loop for anything that might be developing over on the 'east side'

I really didn't know that. Does it open it's mouth and then you walk up it's beak or bill and then look for your seat in the stomach section? ;D I hope you don't have to board from the rear. :'(
Must be a big bird, kind of like that sesame street bird. Is it free?

LOL!!! :D That would be awful.
I remember when you used to walk on the tarmak (sp?) and board (or exit) the plane from the rear.
Sarah L.
tarmac, and boarding from the rear is in the boeing 727... not really used anymore except in some domestic airlines. most liners load from the terminals thesedays.

Well, I was flying a bunch back in 2003 (business trips) and there were quite a few smaller planes that we had to go outside and up some steps. It's just the steps went up to the side/front of the plane. I think if you fly smaller planes, you board from the tarmac still, but larger ones like a 757 or 767 (common) you load from the terminal.
also entirely depends on the airport....
and yeah, by going outside, i meant to airliners, not inc turbos and commuters.

Seems like this has gotten a bit off topic.

P.S. It can be cheaper than driving though if reservations are made in advance.
So what would we do? I've only been to SF once, and that was in nineth grade. So a while ago. I'm under 21, so I couldn't go to any of the interesting clubs (unfortunately) but I could always entertain myself if you guys decide to go barhopping. ^_-
Count me in on the kids' side... even though I'm 25, I'd rather hang with the youngins (and my wife's only 20). No bars for me. Trips to Alcatraz, however... awesome.
SOoo....is this happening or no?
As far as things go on my end, I haven't had anyone confirm that they would come. As such, I haven't made any plans. If we can decide on a date and whatnot, then I can go ahead. Speak up, folks!
Dino
I think you need to pick a date and then do a poll to see how many will come on that date - yes, no, maybe so. Otherwise it's a bit vague for people who are travelling from far away to say they could make it sometime in September.
Dennis
As much as I would love to come out west, I just don't have the funds.
(hormones or trip? hormones or trip? I think the hormones win...)
We should do something here in the North East US. We have the George Eastman House (As in Eastman Kodak), great museums, and Letchworth St. Park is magnificent in the autumn! (Letchworth is also known as the Grand Canyon of the East.)
