Title: Non Binary Tattoos and Symbols
Post by: helen2010 on July 27, 2014, 08:18:22 AM
Just day dreaming but I think that it would be great if I carried a symbol representing my journey, my non binary or even my trans* identity.   Next decision would be whether it should be a tattoo and it's location; a ring; or perhaps a pendant.

I was thinking in terms of a Phoenix which is a symbol for rebirth so it resonates with me.  Has anyone else contemplated or chosen a symbol which expresses their identity?

I didnt have any ink till my transition so I guess it's part of it to me. I have a half a dozen butterflies of course to signify being set free out of bondage of my old shell. Yaayyy!!!

Love my ink, everyone of them has deep meaning to me.

They are on my avatar or some anyway.

By all means get one or some that have meaning to you, find a great artist for sure. Make them draw it for you first.

I thought of having a black outline circle (sometimes used for those who identify as non-binary) but having the inside of the circle striped with the colours of the asexuality flag. I would love to have a tattoo that marks the transition journey... just thinking off the top of my head, having the female and male symbols shattered to symbolize that they were too restrictive for me. My identity cannot be contained within the binary system, it had to break free one way or another!
