Title: Crazy @$$ dreams and estrogen?!
Post by: Ms Grace on August 02, 2014, 08:01:27 PM
I got a new estrogen implant on Monday and my dreams the following few nights were bat$#%& insane and intense. They felt like they went on for hours and covered a whole range of bizarre themes. I was exhausted afterwards. Things seem to have stabilised now, but wow, what a crazy ride. Anyone else find their dreams get whackier than usual when their estrogen dose goes up (like after an implant or injection)?

Definitely more intense for a night or two after injections.  :)

I'm on the pills but I can confirm that my dreams are f#*&ing insane. The level of vividness in them is like nothing I've ever experienced pre-HRT. I've had a few rather nice dreams... but I've also had a few that have actively made me afraid to sleep.

The most recent one was a dream where I was back in college, and I couldn't find a bathroom I'd be comfortable in, and then some how I went to a mental asylum/prison and when I opened the door I let the 'insane' out and it infected everybody on the university campus, and then I started going insane... and it ended in Raiders of the Lost Ark kind of face melting...

Also had a few dreams about falling, or being stalked down the dark hall of my own house... those were fun, needless to say I had to turn on every light in the house afterwards before I could calm down >_>

If you haven't mentioned it I probably wouldn't notice changes in my dreams as I normally don't pay attention to them. Perhaps I'll notice a pattern but what I remember is that initially my dreams went through a phase of rather cartoonish colors and absurd themes and then went to incredibly realistic and heavily emotional situations.

Just few days ago I had a dream I was in some recreational house and a group of men was trying to break into it. The rest of the dream was pretty much desperate wait for security to arrive (which it did in time) as the group was slowly getting in. However this dream can't really be related to higher levels of E as right now I'm on a pause because of planned appendix surgery.

Yeah my dreams have gotten extra crazy since I started shots. Been dreaming about guys for the past few weeks, which is a first for me. And have been seeing younger versions of myself as a lil girl, which never had before I started shots. It's been really nice, I have to admit.

I don't generally remember my dreams unless they're from delirium when I'm really really sick.

When I started HRT I had hot flushes for a few nights.  With the implants, the problem was that I slept on the side where it was placed...

The only weird one I had recently that I could remember was my SO sending me off for an orchi.

I have weird dreams involving surgery.... ^^;
(Someone here will have something to say about that...)

Yeah, when I started HRT, the first few weeks was really intense bizarro-world dreams aplenty. Things seem to have settled down now, although I do think I still have more really strange unpleasant dreams than before.
