So, long story short do to circumstances I can't ask them so relying on you all to answer this question. I'm having in MRI done soon, on my leg though I don't know if the MRI does the whole body or just the leg. My point is, I only have bras that more than likely have a metal wire in their frame. If I recall right, no metal can go in/near an MRI so, help? Should I wear a bra or is it not safe?
As far as I know metal and MRIs don't mix. They usually ask you to change into a gown. Previously they asked me to change down to underpants first but that was before I wore a bra or presented as female. Chances are they won't risk it, for you or their very expensive machine. Wear a sports bra with no wiring.
I had a head MRI done and was told to take off my underwire bra just in case (and my wife, who only sat nearby, had to remove her wedding ring). They try to avoid any metal in the whole chamber, was the impression I got.
So Ms. Grace is right - wear a bra with no metal. There *are* some with plastic clasps, if you don't like the plain sports bra idea.

No. Metal items will cause artefacts. And as MRI is with magnets... Bad things can happen. They will check you prior anyway, just be wearing comfy clothing for it.
Any ferromagnetic materials and MRI do not mix. Not only will metal cause an artifact - it will be pulled very fast into the centre of the machine. You will be asked to check for metal implants including piercing and have them removed as well. Titanium is non ferromagnetic. Although for leg your head will be some distance from the bore. Just remember. It's not quiet but it is safe.

it's always a good idea to have a sports bra lying around. you never know when you might need one.
I have never worn anything with any metal when having an MRI or CAT scan and not have been required to remove any clothing.
:'( As I said, I don't HAVE any other bra besides the wire framed ones. Now I am going to have to explain to them I'm trans and will have to dodge left and right thanks to my dad & society in general.

An artifact is something that shows in the image that is caused by something other than what they intend to look at. So having metal too near may cause a strange spot to show in the MRI image that could make it hard to interpret.

When ever I had a MRI or CAT you did any required changing in the exam room.
