Hi,
So it has been almost 2 months post op for me... waited awhile to post this.
Prior to HRT (before srs), I had really oily, acne prone skin... however, ever since taking anti-andros and E, it has gotten so much better: to the point where I wouldn't wake up with a face full of oil.
After SRS, my skin became oily again... and it has been this way despite the reintroduction of E into my system...
I did have my E levels tested - and most recently it showed 400nmol... lower than normal, and I used to have 1000+ ... but shouldn't my face not be oily since my T production systems have shut down mostly? I am quite concerned... was just wondering whether it was possible for the body to overproduce T in response to the surgery? Or is it possible to have high T levels despite the removal of T production systems (I know there's still the Adrenal gland?? not sure if Im putting this down accurately....)?
Anyone has a similar experience? Any advice would be appreciated... thanks!
Maybe your skin is oilier because of warmer weather?
What was your T level?
Also maybe you need that higher levels of E?
I had my E upped after GCS to get my E level up.
Adrenal glands can produce testosterone also. I've been told that it is highly advisable to monitor T-levels post op and potentially remain on anti-androgens until the body settles down.
You should see your endo, get tested for T-levels and go from there. Your T-levels might still be too high, at least compared to cisgender females.
