I've heard that people, even if bones have been capped a while back, that there is some slight increase in height after being on T a while and/or having top surgery. Has anyone on T experienced that?
It's my understanding that testosterone promotes the growth of cartilage which can expand the discs in the spine and increase height.

I see. That sounds optimistic in my case since it would be nice to grow an extra inch. ;D
You might get one or two, I'm hoping to lose one or two if I'm lucky, you could say I have a thing for taller women
Hi Eris, so does going on E actually decrease height?
From my understanding, testosterone has no effect on your height, nor the size of your hands or feet.
Here is a source which explains why some men experience the phenomenon of "growth":

Well personally, pre-t I wasn't very confident and slouched a lot. It wasn't until a little time into my transition that I started to become more confident and stand up straight with my shoulders back a little (that's what my mom always tried to get me to do). That definitely added an inch a half.
Other than that, I've accepted that I'll probably be 5'5'' for the rest of my life. :P

Not that I'm aware of, however a reduction in testosterone might...
I don't believe that it affects height at all. Not for people past the age of 21, anyway.
Yeah my doctor said after age 19 were pretty much done growing. Although the gain in confidence doesn't have me slouched as much so being able to stand up straighter and feel like I'm a badass made me an inch taller lol
I'm aware of all this, that still doesn't answer my question of whether or not you guys grew slightly despite estrogen capping off your bones by other means. :(

No.
My gf swears I grew about an inch.
Nope. No height increase, no foot or hand size increase.
I'm in the same boat as you, man, but I think there's little hope for those of us for height that haven't started T in early teenage years before our bones got capped off due to estrogen.

I read somewhere that the hands and feet can sometimes appear bigger due to being "meatier" from the T.. is that true or was I just misinformed?

I'm not sure. My hands got thinner and my feet stayed the same, just hairier and a little more veiny. I also lost some weight after the initial puffy phase. Some guys say that their hands and feet got thicker, but it wasn't true for me.
My feet have gotten wider. I thought the "your feet will get bigger" stuff was bunk until my shoes stopped fitting right.
My hands are "meatier"/more muscular but in addition to T I do weight and grip training.
My feet got bigger on T, same as they did when I was pregnant. The increase in blood volume will do that, but I don't see how you could get taller with transition.
i guess i can contribute.
im 19 and started T 6 months ago. i was 5'9 and the time and i hadn't grown in years. once i started T i grew 2 inches and im still going taller. who knows why, i don't stand straighter than i did before.
generally im bigger all around, shoulder wider, legs are thicker and y jawline is more pronounced. and i know it's because of the T.
jsut depends on your situation. im still young so thats prolly why.
I'll toss in my anecdotal evidence with the rest.
I think I got taller. Maybe just confidence, but I don't think so because I still hunch and fold over to cover my chest. Objectively, I did go up a shoe size.
However it, it makes me feel better to be solidly 5'5", though I don't know for sure what I was before to the exact number
i've grown a whole centimeter since i was 20. not too sure when the second last time i measured my height was, but definitely after 20.
this without any hormone treatment. and i never slouch when measuring my height.
it's funny to be told when nearing 30, that i'm taller than i thought.
maybe it's just a matter of how straight my muscles can stretch me though, who knows.
but shouldn't i be shorter if that was the case, it's not like i have more muscle now than ten years ago, or even just five.

My doc told me that this is likely to happen, and she knows her stuff.

You can be 1/2 inch or more taller when you first wake up than you are later in the day. You aren't necessarily taller than you were at 20.
