Hi peeps! I've lurked this great forum for about a year and finally joined. I'm 26 and have never had any type of surgery done before.
I'm moving to Thailand next year and staying in Bangkok for a year, I will be living in my own apartment. Since I'll already be in Thailand, I'm also going to have a rhinoplasty done. (I like the rest of my face)
I like the work I've seen from Chettawut so I was considering him, but according to his prices at this link: http://www.tssurgeryguide.com/Dr_Chettawut.html (http://www.tssurgeryguide.com/Dr_Chettawut.html)
a Feminizing Rhinoplasty costs 122,000 THB (about $3,800)
If it's not all inclusive than it seems like quite a bit for Thailand. Surely the thousands of ladyboys walking around Bangkok didn't pay thousands of dollars for their surgeries!
For anyone who has been through Chettawut:
Is that all inclusive? Are there any more costs outside of that? (blood tests, anesthesia, pain killers, etc.)
Do surgeons usually drop the price when you contact them directly?
Should I wait to contact him until I'm actually living in Bangkok? Maybe his price will drop, or I won't be seen as just another medical tourist? (Also won't have to stay in his hotels)
Also if any of you have had work with Dr.Chettawut or any other doctors in Bangkok please share your experiences and results with me.
If not Chettawut, can anyone recommend someone cheaper in Bangkok?
I understand the risks, but I'm very tight on money and have no family. Having it done in the USA at extortionate prices is not an option.
I greatly appreciate input from anyone! ;D
I'm 10 days post SRS with dr Chettawut. The staff are amazing. Most of the medication is included - he would probably be able to recommend a clinic for the blood tests. Apparently a lot of his patients are Asian.
There are cheaper places but you get what you pay for. Amazing quality and care. With FFS it is important to be able to understand that there are no miracles... Not everything is feasible. Since you will be in Bangkok you can probably check easier with him about what can be achieved.
Good luck
Hi
You might want to email the clinic directly for 2 reasons - 1) a specific recommendation of your situation (shaving? cartilage repositioning? alarplasty/nostril base reduction?) and 2) for the most up to date prices - they usually refresh (upwards) yearly
I ~personally~ think his charges for rhinoplasty aren't too rocket high (would consider his upper third work on the steep side though).
You must understand that the 'thousands of ladyboys walking around Bangkok' mainly had noses to build on (i.e. via implant insertion) and not reduction (i.e. shaving and hammering and whatnot). The former is clearly a lot easier than the latter.
You might want to look at Dr Pat from Tokai clinic. I think some of the people on this forum have been to him and he is obviously a lot cheaper. Do note what you pay is what you get.....
