Title: Free/sliding scale hrt in Boston
Post by: skakid on August 07, 2014, 07:39:31 PM
I was on Androgel for a few months and then my mum canceled my insurance. I got on my dad's insurance, but they have $3,000 deductible before they'll cover most prescriptions. I applied for Masshealth, but they keep turning down my doctors prior authorization forms for any form of testosterone she tries to prescribe. Does anyone know of anywhere in MA or even New England that does free or very cheap hrt? I'm getting pretty desperate, this has been going on for a few years now and I just wanna get back on t.

Have you tried planned parenthood to see if they have anyway to help?

Also do not know what the problem is with your old doctors script, There is supposed to be no more exclusions for past health issues.

Perhaps Fenway Healthcare? http://www.fenwayhealth.org/site/DocServer/ADMIN-FIN-02_Sliding_Fee_Discount_Program_Policy.pdf?docID=11921 (http://www.fenwayhealth.org/site/DocServer/ADMIN-FIN-02_Sliding_Fee_Discount_Program_Policy.pdf?docID=11921)

Planned Parenthood and Fenway are good places to start. Also look into Sidney Borum-- they specialize in young adult health care and might have more flexibility in pricing.
