I'm just wondering would hormone treatment effect shoe size? I don't mean would it make you smaller I mean would it hinder you getting any bigger? I'm a size 7 uk and I'm 6ft tall and started hrt at 15
In another life I sold shoes for twenty years...
The only effect I can picture happening is changing how much fluid you retain, and that may change your shoe size marginally. A UK 7 is equivalent to a US 9 or a Euro 40. I'm not sure about where you live, but in the USA this is the most common size so there should be plenty for you to choose from.
Just checking to see if it was due to my early-ish hormone treat that stopped mine from getting big cause I'm assuming someone who's 6ft should have bigger
Hi Alexis,
Best person to answer this one would be your Endocronologist. From your blood tests he/she should be able to see what's happening with your growth inhibiting hormones. But even then, it may not be conclusive.
There is some anecdotal evidence that your feet may shrink slightly, depending on the HT regime you are on, or at least remain as they are.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, HT is such a lottery. You just never know when or what you win.

Thanks everyone for the answers!:) just don't think you get what I'm asking not will my feet shrink on hrt my question is I know for someone of my height 7 is quite small, do you think it's just genetic or due to hrt?
Mine were US 7.5-8 to begin with, now I'm around 6.5-8 depending on brand, shoe type, etc. I'm 5'6. Hormones might have shrunk them a little, I'm not sure but there's also water retention which hormones affect.
I used to be a UK sized 8 or 9 depending on the style and manufacturer. About four months in and my UK size 8 Salomon trainers were too big. I bought a pair of UK size 6.5 Salomon trainers to replace them. They were snug on the little toe (not quite pinching), but now almost 10 months into HRT they feel quite roomy and comfortable. Womens shoes I can now fit a UK sized 6 or 7 standard width. The UK sized 7 wide heels i bought before HRT Are now too big.
A similar thing has happened to my hands, most noticeable on my fingers when wearing rings. I cannot wear my wedding band anymore as it has a nasty habit of flying off, particularly when I quickly flip my hand.
Heightwise I've also gotten shorter, from 5' 8.5" to 5' 7".
Hi Alexis,
I think I get what you are saying. I don't think I have an answer, but a suggestion: How does your height and shoe size compare to other members of your family?
If a UK 7 is a US 9, as Allison indicated, I'd think that is small for a six foot person. You'll never really know is this is natural or HRT-based, but if your dad is six foot and wears a UK 7 and your mom 5'6" and wears a UK 5, then maybe small feet just run in your family.

Same here. I used to be close to 5'7. Now closer to 5'6.
