I've started estrogen, estradiol sublingually. But I can never make it the full 30 minutes without it just kind of getting everywhere in my mouth. What am I doing wrong? :(
When I was still taking pills, I gave up with sublingual delivery and instead went with buccal (ie above the front teeth between the upper gums and inside of the mouth. It can take longer to dissolve, but at least I didn't end up with a mouth full of saliva and dissolved estradiol.
When I was taking E sublingually neither could I. A good 20 min if I'm lucky. I would poke it into the underside and back of my tongue which helped keep saliva from drawing it off.
I swallow, nine years now, and I've had excellent results. I'm planning on injections since thank God I'm undergoing SRS next year. I do not want to worry about pills every day forever.
Okay, thanks everyone! I've seen the buccal approached mentioned on other sites (not specific to estrogen though). Maybe I can give that a try. Doing so still sends the estrogen directly into the blood stream?

Yup, it's mucous membrane.
I use pills sublingually too and have noticed this issue. What I try to do is place it directly under the vein of my tongue all the way in the back. Just keep your mouth closed for 10 minutes and it should be absorbed. Estradiol breaks down pretty quick. I've seen two makes of them, however, and the blue oval pills absorb more quickly than the round blue pills. I get the oval ones from my current pharm, so taking it this way isn't so difficult.
