I recently started epilating and yeah, that hurts a lot on the thigh area at first. I have gotten used to it and the pain is not near is bad anymore but I have already stopped though because I have read a lot of horror stories about scarring from epilating and ingrown hairs even though they were exfoliating. I haven't seen any problems yet but the chance of that happening scares me. Has anyone had that type of an experience?
I have a BRAUN SILK-EPIL 7 wet or dry from amazon about $100.Use it in the shower before you wash the warm water helps and the charge lasts quite a long time. I don't have a problem with ingrown hairs normally just a few on my upper thigh area once in a while. After showering use baby oil with e and aloe feels great. Also have a can of air in the shower to clean the plucking head works great on a clogged razor too.I have been on HRT for 8 months so the hair growth has slowed down quite a bit ,normally shave about every 3 weeks the EPIL does the rest.
Oh just shave your legs for heavens sake, that's what girls do I feel far more fem shaving my legs
The problem I have with shaving my legs is that, in 2 days or so, stubble forms and my legs are Velcro. When I roll over in bed the sheet comes with me!
Perhaps scars and in-grown hairs are in my immediate future, but to date I haven't experienced either using my epilator.

Definitely it is an everyday ordeal. Most women shave. For me it is and everyday ordeal. If I go one day without then my legs get all messed up. Especially at the lower thigh, near the knees. Most all the girls I know shave. Ripping the hairs out seems to cause more ingrown hairs. Shaving, once the skin gets use to the sensation is about the best way to go. I tired waxing and after about the 4-5 week mark OMG. red bums. Hair growing under the skin and curling around. I just can't hack that.

I use the same tool with similar results. The benefits over shaving for me is that even if I miss a few days, the hair that grows back is soft and stubble never happens, no razor cuts, actually quicker if I do it daily too. I doubt if I will ever go back to shaving. I use it everywhere I need to, but thankfully HRT has done a pretty good job elsewhere.
Fair winds and calm seas,
