Title: Natural breast development
Post by: Ms Grace on August 16, 2014, 06:08:12 PM
Hi ladies

As we know, breast development can be a major part of our identity as a woman. Slow development, or perceived lack of development, can also be a major source of anxiety, distress and disappointment. And so it is for cis girls and women too, from puberty onwards it is their reality. Some girls develop early and feel mortified, some develop late and likewise are distressed. Some get virtually no growth at all while others balloon enormously...some are happy with either of these outcomes while others are miserable. Sound familiar?

Part of the issue is that society is so focused on "perfect breasts" being in a very narrowly defined range of shapes and sizes that the actual sheer diversity of breasts is almost invisible, even though they are there on the front of half the world's population. Complicating matters is the over sexualisation of breasts - especially of the young, pert or voluminous varieties. These are usually the only breasts we see as young people trying to get a sense of the female body and what is 'normal'. Cis girls at least are likely to see a variety of breasts as they grow up but as pre-transitioned (and probably unaware of our own trans status) trans girls most of our exposure to breasts will have been of the hetro cis male fantasy version and it is likely have given us a very skewed perception of breast and the variety there actually is.

To that end I'd like to share a link to a site that is designed for cis women to inform them about their breasts and reassure them about development, etc. Please note the link should (sadly) be considered NSFW, however it has only non-sexual pictures of bare breasts, all shapes and sizes and how those women feel about their breasts. Even at age 19 some women have barely reached an A cup. It's worth a look through all the galleries because it is a nice panacea to the objectifying sexualised tripe we've been exposed to since we hit puberty.

Wherever you are in the development process, you are normal! Hugs! :)

That... actually does make me feel a little better. :) Some of the pictures in that gallery are pretty similar to the way mine look. But, I would still probably get implants if I had the money. ;)

This is neither here nor there, but i was just curious if you're aware of the truly staggering number of side effects and complications from implants.

When mine starting budding, I was like thank you G-d,
when they filled an A cup, I was like few, even if I do not get anymore, I am like so grateful,
now I am a C and I am like... thank you G-d !

Would I get any larger, I hope not... but it is not up to me... genes, hormones, and G-d

Thank you for the link Grace, it was reassuring to find a few gals who sport some breast similar to mine...

I'm really glad to hear it's helped a few people. Not knowing that there are many others out there with very similar breast shape and size can make people feel very uncertain if what they have is "normal". The answer in the majority of cases is a resounding yes!

Nice link Ms. Grace! Oi Oi thank ye thank ye. ;D I do feel much better about my own progress.

One thing I do notice is all these women's smaller rib cages than us 'men'. Hmmm...

Yes, that is a definite difference that can make any progress we do make seem somewhat less spectacular. My rib cage isn't huge but I figure that if I a typical cis female torso I'd easily be a C cup by now.

I had wondered if it had been or not. It's such a useful site I would have been surprised if it hadn't previously been posted. The thing that amazes me is how much breast development appears to be pot luck. One girl developing at age 8 and another at age 25 totally flat chested. Makes me very grateful for what I have thus far.

And to those of us who worry about not developing "fast enough" it seems that the cis women who did develop quickly often have stretch marks.

Yes, there are probably several folks who haven't seen this before  :)  'The girls' seem to have a mind of their own at times

I think breast are breasts whither cis or trans, mine started up rather quickly when I started HRT and I had stretch marks for awhile, but then they slowed down and the stretch marks dissipated over time

Usually about the time I start to think "Well I guess that's it, that's all I'm gonna get" they seem to perk up again

It's funny because as much insecurities I have about my transition/development my chest isn't really a big problem for me.  While I do wish I had a little more cleavage and that they were a bit bigger to minimize the impact of my shoulders/upper arms and chest width, I do have breast and it's grown enough for me to feel they look feminine (b cup at the moment).  And I agree that many here are a bit tougher on themselves then they need to be as breast size varies a lot.  Nothing wrong with having an A or B cup.  Besides, I can't imagine walking around with anything too large, it seems like it could be uncomfortable.

Well, this was an embarrassing post, lol.

My chest is so broad and the breasts seem to not be centered directly under the collarbones at mid-span like they do on cis women that it took forever before I ever developed any cleavage. The breasts are larger than I really prefer but without the size there would be no cleavage at all. (Tank Top Girl)

I have a teeny rib cage circumference-wise: 30.5 inches. But still I feel like the ribs protrude more or something, IDK. Maybe I'm just too skinny. Like technically I'm either a 30D or 32D, but they don't look like Ds. More like Bs. Maybe I have sever BDD though. With a bra on they do look freaking huge.

I've been on HRT for basically 11 months, or 18 if you count low, low , low dose HRT that was not prescribed and didn't lower T levles enough. The main thing I want is to get rid of these pesky muscles which I built trying to hide my boobs pre-HRT. Mainly neck muscles and back and delts, though I'm still petite with them, I just look too athletic for my tastes. I'd rather be all fatty like, kinda like ScarJo.

^^ Yeah those lats! They can make the rib cage appear wider than they are. Hopefully a few lbs of muscle loss will take care of that.

I think that has been my salvation, never really did much body building. Tried it a few times but never lasted more than a couple of weeks on account of me being so lazy. I have scrawny arms and none too broad shoulders which has been a godsend. I think a lot of people would be happier with their breast growth if they had a smaller rib cage.

You're mad with jealousy about my lats!  :D  You can't shrink a rib cage and at 5' 7" I have been stuck with a rib cage that would look better on some 6' 6" male...probably due to Saami's in the ethnic mix who tend to be short and stocky. Best thing I can do is eat lean and do my crunches to keep from having a man gut.

My lats are bigger than yours! And I used to work those out impetuously.

I don't think so, though mine are covered with a thin layer of girly fat from hormones that doesn't go away which is fine as it softens the washboard look.

Thanks for posting this; it does help.

14 months and I am an A. I am grateful for the A but a B would be very nice.

2 weeks ago I had a tight shirt on when I got dressed (a Saturday). My wife said your tits are huge then she said you wore that shirt on purpose didn't you. I made a sad face and said you are the one who wanted to paint today. Inside I was so happy and yes I wore the old shirt on purpose. :)

See, I have fatter upper arms than I would like, but it's pretty much just fat and not muscle.  At the very least, it's something that can be lost in time with more weight loss. Sucks though.  And I agree with the smaller rib cage comment.

I just checked this website http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/17182.htm :O Is this even accurate when it comes to ribcages?? If you're small bonned, you're small bonned everywhere?? Lol I so failed at anatomy classes. Sorry.

Very cool. I haven't had much about anxiety about my boob size yet, but I might easily get there because I have a wide ribcage and broad shoulders. But I look almost identical to the first picture, which was amusing and positive to see. And I do know ciswomen who are smaller than me, even though I'm just a full A, closing on B. But then again, I'm less than four months in, so it's promising.
