Title: Milestones
Post by: JulieBlair on August 16, 2014, 10:17:40 PM
I got my birth certificate in the mail today.  I just started at it for a while, actually teared up.  Happy tears though, it got me thinking about steps I have taken, fears I have faced, milestones reached, milestones yet to come.  I started this journey, fat, mostly bald, and scared to death that I would never be anything more than a freak in a dress.  That was thirty months ago.

30 months.  I started running and getting fit.  Began using Minoxidil
24 months.  I started counseling, shaved off my beard, began HRT
20 months. A cup
18 months. Added Finisteride
  9 months. Changed my name.
8 months. Got my drivers license with F gender marker
4 months. Attended Esprit and fell  in love with the trans community
4 months. Started the process of coming out at work
3 months. Full time, all the time :)
3 months.  Credit, loan and banking changed
  2 months.  C cup
Today I got my birth certificate.

Still to come, mortgage, SRS, FFS perhaps I don't know.  The whole time I've been lurking around here and you have taught me much, listened, cried with me, laughed with me.  Thank you.

What do these and other signposts of authenticity mean to you?  How have you changed?

Fair winds and calm seas,

Julie

Congrats, hon! ;D

Those kind of milestones mean a lot to me. I'm currently almost at 14 month HRT and 5 months full time at work. I am different person the who I was 19 months ago when I had my gender melt down. Thank god!

Like you I have this forum to thank a lot for the support and the confirmation I wasn't alone.
