Title: Hi and Introduction
Post by: Spicy on August 16, 2014, 11:19:49 PM
Hello all,

I go by Spicy because I like my food hot. I've read that redheads have a better than average tolerance for that. It's also because I haven't quite settled on a name for myself, so this is a nice genderless placeholder to use until I figure that part out.

I am male-towards-female transgender (that's my latest description). I probably have felt positive about being transgender for ~2 years out of 20 years of awareness. I'm currently 33, married, and a middle school teacher. I told my wife that I cross dressed shortly after we began dating 10 years ago. Our relationship is wonderful and we love each other deeply; however, accommodating my transgender needs has NOT been easy, clear, and free of hurt feelings for us. I can definitely say our ability to communicate is quite strong because we've had lots of practice.  I'm now at the verge of being out and authentic and although I wish I reached this point sooner, I couldn't have done it without the strong foundation we've built together getting here.

A few family members and friends are aware of how I identify and during the last school year I began shifting my presentation to a more androgynous style. Additionally, I see a gender therapist and I am about 1 year into hrt. I'm happy to connect with you further on the boards, thanks for reading!
