I don't think I'm in breach of the terms of use as I'm not giving dosages, but have any of you other girls been on Estrogen, T-blocker, progesterone, and Dutasteride at once. I'm currently on the first two, and I would like to request going on the second two when I see my Dr. in 9 days. (I'm lucky to have my own hair, but there's some old loss places I'd like to try to thicken). Has anyone also been on all four (not to be confused with all fours)?
Oh, and today is two years on hrt! I'm celebrating with a date with a new guy. I'll probably wear something that won't give him a chance to like me for my personality. Nope.
Yes I have.
Not that exact combo, but I am on four at once. No biggie in the right mix. I also take some non transition meds like levothyroxin and pravastatin.
There are peripheral things like "metrogel", estrace cream, minoxidil etc that are regularly worked in as needed in treatment schemes.
I have Jane, I'm still alive just check with your doc because everyone is different.
And we wouldn't have you any other way, Shan!!!! I will check.
Thanks to you all.
And I don't think that I'd be on dutasteride for more than a year, unless I misunderstand how it works.
Estrogen
T-blocker
Dutasteride
Minoxidil
Although I question if I need dutasteride and T-blockers any longer. What's so frustrating is getting new baselines done and then the requisite lab work. Just takes time.
Estrogen, progesterone, Spironolactone, Finasteride, (dutasteride not in Mazzoni's formulary and my insurance rejected it at CVS) and Minoxidill.
Still alive in Sunny Philadelphia :)

And we have a winner! :-)
Personally, I'm just on estradiol and spiro, but everyone's regimen differs. As long as your doctor is okay with it and is actively monitoring you, then I wouldn't worry too much.
All of the stated medications have a place in transition. As long as your doctor is aware of all you are taking and you/they keep up with lab tests to verify you are OK it is all good.
I am only on two transition medications (at the moment) and one was prescribed by a cardiologist specifically as a heart medication. However, I am on so many medications for other things that I need an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet typed in a small font to keep track of them. This works, I am still alive and kicking. [Better living through chemistry?]
Enjoy the ride!

That is the most important consideration. Since it all processes through the liver and kidneys it is imperative to have the labs done periodically to be sure you're not overloading and compromising the organs.

Congrats on 2 years. 2 days from now is for me is also 2 years on HRT. Yay for 2 years!
At one point I was taking 14+ pills a day over 6+ medications, 2 non-HRT related. I'm on E, MPA, Finasteride, and spiro and I think you'll be okay :P
Estrogen, progesterone, Spironolactone, Finasteride (Propecia), and Minoxidill here as well. Starting from a completely bald top, this combo has given me just enough hair to despair, but I don't as so many other good changes are happening in the body. :) And besides, there are always wigs.

Yeah, I have the Franciscan monk tonsured look on my crown with light hair trying ever so hard to grow in until I go out in the sun on a hot day with no hat and then those poor hairs look like my lawn does right now after several weeks of 80+ degree weather. :'(
