So this is my first time posting here, and I have a couple of questions. First of all, ive been on 17b estradiol (I think thats what its called) and spiro for a week. Ive already noticed some great changes! My hair thinning, my skins slightly softer, and my breasts are starting to become real painful. I did notice tho the other day that night I feel almost like my E is depleted. I take my pills in the morning too. I dont know if its just all in my head, but I was wondering if anyone knows if raising my dosage to two (one morning, one night) would be ok. Im also transitioning pretty young from what ive been told so Im very excited to see some darastic changes :D
Welcome to Susan's. We are not physicians, and don't make recommendations to dosage or frequency. Talk to your doctor about your concerns if you think there is an issue.
The hardest thing about HRT is patience - things happen at their own pace and so just sit back and enjoy the ride. Since you are young, the results will almost certainly please you greatly. This is an amazing journey that you are beginning, it has no real end point but living authentically is quite magical.
Welcome again,
Julie
Welcome to Susan's Jane,
Any dosage changes should be discussed with you doctor.

Thanks for the welcome! And I understand on the not asking for recommendations about meds. Its just that im my doctors first transgender and she basically knows as much as I know. Was just getting opinions thats all. (And plz dont say "just get a new doctor" cause it took me two years to just find this one where I live)
I just read the "Dosages and DIY" post so yea, stupid question on my part. Ignore that I even asked.
No worries. :) Here you can be your authentic self, learn, grow and discover. Going slowly is always hard, but the consequences of short cuts can actually be life threatening. DVT and other complications can kill you. So tell me about yourself, there are many here who would like to know you.
Peace,
Julie
Well, Im from Ontario. Ive actually had kindof a depressing life (religious extremist parents). Growing up I never knew I was transgender, hell I didnt know what transgender was till 3 years ago. I learned from a friend who showed me a video of someone transition. I cried. I knew right away that that could be me! I was so happy that that day I posted on facebook that I was trans and my parents dissowned me. I moved to a new city, am part of a pretty great group home. Ive come so far in the past 2 years thatbi feel euphoric. But yea that should shed some light I guess. P.s. is age something which should not be said here?
What you disclose is up to you. I'm bloody old - lol There is an amazing trans community in Ontario, you're in good company. I'm sorry that your parents couldn't see past what your internally defined gender is, to celebrate who you are. Perhaps one day that will change, I truly hope so. I'll be off for a while, I have a couple of meetings that I have to chair, but I'll check in now and then if you would like.
Wander about, sample some of what is here. It is really quite amazing, both the breadth of knowledge and scholarship that the men and women display and share here. There is much to appreciate.

Hi Jayne,
I'm in Ontario as well, and I'm almost as old as Julie although, she is younger at heart than I am :)
Welcome to Susan's! Please have your doctor do a search for Sherbourne Health Centre in Toronto may be of some use to both you and your doctor
Hope this helps,
