So today I finished moving in and my mom left and it's awesome. Everyone is calling me Jace, my roommate is pretty cool, the city is amazing. The school itself looks amazing and I'm ready for classes. Did I mention how awesome the dorms are? Brand new, two room, two bathroom, living/kitchen area for four people. It's so nice.
I moved in early and so did my actual roommate so it's just us for now. I don't know how else to phrase this experience at first but awesome! At first I wasn't feeling too hot because my mom had helped me move in and was still here and she doesn't know I'm trans. So I was trying to hide stuff and it was really stressful and I love her but I'm happy she left. It's just so nice to be able to introduce myself as Jace to literally everyone I meet. And my ID has Jace too. I'm so happy.
How does your mom not know you're trans...? O__o
That seems like something that'll be pretty hard to hide considering you're presenting that way in college already.
I dress and act like a guy. She just thinks I'm a tomboy. I'm going to tell my parents in a couple months, but my therapist and my sister both thought it would be a good idea to live as a guy as awhile before telling them so I knew for sure and would have it as proof that I really know what I'm doing when I tell them.
But how does she not know...? Are you dorming with a female or are you able to have co-ed dorms? I'm out to my mom and she'd still be uneasy about me dorming with a male (which is one reason why I'm looking for an apartment instead of residing in a dorming complex near my campus). But at least some of your family knows.
Two of my roommates are girls and one is also transgender.

Ok, so you are in a girl's dorm (sounds like an apartment), but you are telling everyone that you are a transguy and they are all being cool with it, you mean? Also, one of the other female bodied people in your dorm room identifies as male/transgender, too? Is this correct?
Sounds like you hit the jackpot. Congrats on being able to be you ALL THE TIME! :-)
That's correct though the whole dorm building itself is coed. It's pretty great. I was talking to my RA and he was using female pronouns but as soon as I went I'm a guy, he changed. Also I got toostie rolls cause I was the first person to introduce myself to him. Candy is always a plus.

Glad things are looking good for you there from moment one. There is NOTHING like your college years! I am glad you are able to live in a dorm. There is just something about that freshman year, being away from home in a dorm. The best memories, ever! Good luck to you.
