Title: Any gig/concert/festival you regret not going to when it was easy to do...?
Post by: rosinstraya on August 23, 2014, 12:08:57 AM
Years ago.....really years ago, I didn't get to see a joint bill of Pixies and Throwing Muses at a small venue that was round the corner from my then workplace and all of 10 minutes walk from home. I had this stupid idea that you needed to go and see music with others, otherwise it "wasn't right". Stupid, I know.

Anyone else regret missing out (for whatever reason)?

Not going up to Indianapolis to see A.C. on what turned out to be their final U.S tour. (Seth died a month or so after the tour was over) The only reason why I didn't go was that I owed a bunch of money on medical bills. I was worried about skipping a payment and being turned into a collection agency over it all. So, I didn't go. It would have required me spending around $200 to go since I would have taken a cab round trip, buy a ticket for the show, get a cheap room at a motel somewhere. I should have said "screw it" and went to the show. Yeah, it wouldn't have been like seeing them in the early to mid 90's where they were totally on fire (not to mention you had to watch out for the occasional flying fist or chair from the band and not fans.  :D) Good times that would have been. But at least I could have seen them live in some form.

I turned down a chance to see Led Zeppelin at Knebworth 1979.I didn't fancy being the driver(I was the only one who had a licence) and staying sober when my mates were all wrecked
