Title: First things first
Post by: nevergiveup on August 23, 2014, 04:42:31 AM
So today 8/23 2:18 Am I took my first estradiol and started the long journey. I knew there was a long journey ahead but I will try my best to stick on. !

I've been through a lot. I come from a country where being trans* would be harshly abused and possibly get killed and especially the parents would use forces to , possibly killing their trans* kid. That's why I haven't bred one word to my parents about my situation yet.

Right now I am in the US on a student visa and planning on applying for asylum.  If some sis here have some tips regarding that I would be greatly appreciated.!!!!

Best wishes to you all !

Hey!

Firstly, welcome to Susan's :) Great to have you here - looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

I know nothing about how they apply asylum laws in the US. If you are anywhere near a gender centre you may want to talk to them about your situation and the fear you have for your life if you return home and what might be done to help you stay in the country/what that will mean for your current visa arrangements, etc. All the best. :)

haha I am from China. My parents are diehard communists and in my country  marrying an opposite-sex is a social must for people. Not to even mention the freedom to be a transgender

I would check with the local U.S. Embassy for information.  :)

If you check online, there are several transgender legal resources that may be able to help with your situation.

Welcome to Susan's and good luck!
