So I picked out the name Kade a while back. But honestly I don't think it's going to work for me. Too many people think I'm saying "Kate" and it gets old fast. Does anyone have any suggestions for a name you could "see" me as (from my picture) or even just names you like! Post with your favorite or a couple.
Would Kaden work better for you if you wanted to stick with the same theme?
I'm thinking Jaden, Gabriel or Tyler.
I had a friend switch from Kade to Kye.
If you like the letter K, another one that would suit you would be Kyle. Or you could go for Kris with a K, but that's also often short for Kristin so might not be your favorite.
Kyle
Kyler
Tyler
Frank
George
Larry
Tanner
You look like a James to me... idk why
If you would prefer a name based on personality, something I like to do is go to babynames.com and search for a name with a meaning that relates to you.
It's actually how I found my name (Ashling).
I'd like to think I'm pretty good at picking names.
I picked names for two trans guys who were pretty darn happy with them.
First! Do you have anything in particular about your 'birth name' that you would like to keep? Things like an initial or a certain sound?
Do your siblings (if you have any) have a theme to their names that you'd like to continue (or have something in common)? Some examples would be if your family has names deeply rooted in a particular language that's part of your family history, or maybe they're all biblical names.
Do you currently have a middle name picked out? Do you want a middle name?
How many syllables are in your last name? Which syllable has the emphasis?
Is there a particular sound repeated in your last name? In a lot of Irish last names "an" sounds are repeated so a first name that ends with "an" sometimes doesn't fit.
Also consider who you are, what you like, and your personality.
Kieran, Kaullin, Sebastian, Grady
These are names I considered for myself.
I settled on Morgan because its unisex and not too far off from my birth name ( but not super close either )
- Konrad
- Dylan
- Davin
- Anthony
- Jay
- Patrick
- Christien
looking at your photo....I see "Jamie" or "Riley" haha it's hard to say!
kinda seeing a cody or kurt. but ill make a little list for ya maybe XD
Cody
Kurt
Nathan
Liam
Anthony (tony)
Lowell
Oddly enough you look like either a Tyler or a Riley to me.
you look like a tyler! but that's just for now, it's better if your name fits later as well.
answering nygeel's questions might help you find a good name.
I think You should be called Trenton James.
...but what do I know.

I've decided my middle name is going to be Doran, which is my father's middle name. I like the name (and my dad) and we have a tradition in our family with "D" middle names. So that's why I don't want to go with Kaden...for exactly the reason you mentioned above. My birth name is Kimberly so there isn't a male version of that or really anything I can think of that would go with "sounds" as far as that goes. My sister's name is Carla, so... We don't really have any biblical or language-related links in our names.
Like four of you guys suggested "Tyler" but that's my brother-in-law's name, plus I know a lot of douchebags named Tyler :P
I'm still mulling over some of the other suggestions...
Here are a couple more pics because I'm lame and it might help with suggestions:

You certainly look like a Dylan or Aiden.
Connor, Xavior, Felix, Joshua, Andrew
kale, kenneth, kimbel, cyril, cedric, clayton, kevin, keith
kimberley is unisex, really, as is the short form kim.
when looking for a name, consider its meaning as well as the sound, and how it connects you with family and ancestors.
How about Jace?
Sorry, I'm not very good at names lol. The name I've been using lately - Robin - wasn't even something I came up with. I had to make a thread on another site asking for name ideas, too. And it wasn't until about page 10 that I made a decision.
Kimberly is supposed to be unisex, but it's more often gendered female than male.
I went with family names. My last name starts with an Ly, with the emphasis on the Y, and the name my parents gave me also ended in an ly, though it fit together fine, (my sisters name also ends in ly)
I asked my mom what I would have been named if I'd been a boy, and the first name was my great uncles name from my dads side of the family, and the second was her fathers middle name. I liked it quite a lot, and started using it, and then liked it well enough that I decided to go ahead with my legal name change. I did end up sharing a middle name with a cousin on my moms side, but he's a cool dude, and neither one of us care lol.
It was kind of funny because both of my siblings have a first and middle name that flow together well, and they get called both names often enough (it's the south, what can I say, though it's nothing like Bobby Joe, lol) and I didn't get a middle name when I was born, so now I've got one, and it works out the same as all my siblings. They think it's hilarious that I now have a middle name they get to yell :p
I would look up popular names from the few years around and especially the couple years before you were born and start creating a short list, and see what goes well with the middle name you picked and your last name. Sometimes names grow on you, and sometimes you see one and you just know it's the right one, and then sometimes you just pick one and grow into it.
if i would choose taka for myself if i could. but it doesn't fit with any of the languages used where i live, so... the meaning would be lost.
the first good alternative, is already owned by my step brother.
finding a name can be difficult when all the obvious alternatives are impossible.
Hm, so I've made a list of some I like...to be honest I kind of want to avoid any super unique names that may draw attention.
So, tell me what you guys think about these:
Lucas
Clark
Benjamin
Eliot
Seth
Levi
Everett
Micah
See anything that seems to suit my face?
Gah, this is incredibly frustrating because I'm waiting to come out to my fam until I figure out a name I can stick with -_-

You look like a Lucas to me.
CLARK!!!! So much.
...
2nd Seth
3rd Everett
4th Benjamin
Well, if you like Kade you can stick with it, because the "Kate" thing won't happen forever. People always found a way to make my name into a female name when I was early in transition, now that never happens anymore.
That being said, looking at you, I can see you being an Anthony or Jake.
James (you seem like a Jamie), Kyle, or Marcus
Seth or Clark.
Yo Everett, how ya doing? :)

I second this. people find ways to turn anything into female names to fit their preconceptions. For example, I get called Ann all the time instead of Ian so I really have to pronounce each letter carefully lol but it won't always be that way for me or for you.
I like Lucas though, especially since Luca and Luke are both excellent nicknames. Clark would fit as well. I know someone who looks a bit like you who chose Ryan (before settling back into their unisex birth name) and I also think Alex would fit.
I really really really really reallllllly love the name Felix. It's hip! It's coral!!
I think I'm down to either Clark or Everett.
A lot of people have me thinking critically about why I want to change my name. It's partially because everyone thinks I'm saying "Kate" but it's also partially because I don't like the way the name feels in my mouth. I feel like I really have to put a lot of emphasis into enunciating it.
Idk, blah. I don't want to care what other people think, but I do, so it's hard to distinguish if I want to change my name for "the right reasons" I guess.
Both names are solid.
Everett, tho....I never considered it for myself but I really like that one.
I (personally) really really love the name Clark and think it would be really fitting for you. It sounds like such a dapper, sharp name to me.. Had I not already picked my name I could imagine myself going up to someone and confidently saying, "Hey there, my name's Clark." Just sounds awesome. Dunno. :D

Actually my firs thought was felix and then max/maxwell but since you have it down to two choices...Clark would be my vote

Clark or Everett... Darn, you look so much like a Clark and an Everett! I think I'm leaning towards Everett for you.
iiMTF
Of the names you listed, I think Micah suits you best. But I also like Felix- been watching Orphan Black and I like that she uses the nickname "Fe" for her BFF. Never heard that nickname before.

Totally fair, in the end if it makes you uncomfortable it makes you uncomfortable. Don't forget to try out writing and signing each name, or at least that was one of the things that went into my decision making process when I was looking for a name.
I used babynames.com to find mine. I was reading a book series at the time whose main character's name was "Reuben," and I liked that name, so I found it on that website, and it means "Behold - A son." I thought that, being transsexual, it was quite fitting, and would be even more after I start transition. I've chosen for my middle name to be "Gabriel" instead of my first name, because I liked Reuben better as a first name. I felt that it flowed better. I thought of "Gabriel" because, when I was born, my mother wanted to name me "Gabrielle," and I like the name Gabriel. I guess just pick something that means a lot to you, and that's meaning is something you enjoy. Also, liking the way names flow together, and fit you overall, helps, too.
clark kent?
everett sounds better to me. but that's my own preference.
my 2nd youngest nephew is called a different spelling of micah. not a bad name that either.
it doesn't always happen that people turn a male name into a female one with the nearest sound. my own name is somewhat rare, so those who haven't heard it before gives me a puzzled look, asking if i just said a similar sounding male name.
funniest thing that ever happened what when a superior once called me her husband's name, because it sounds so similar to mine. it's really easy to speak the wrong name out of habit, but that's the first time i've heard anyone use an opposite sex name in that kind of case.
