Title: Losing weight for SRS
Post by: Jaz650 on August 25, 2014, 09:50:30 PM
My surgeon said I had to be under 200 pounds for SRS. I'm am 5 6, a year ago I weighed 273 pounds, about four months ago 225, today 199! :) Has anybody here had to lose weight for SRS? Why is losing weight for surgery important? I eat very healthy, and I have fun exercise. Yesterday I played basketball with my family, and today soccer and jump rope with my baby sister. The secret is to enjoy it. I live feeling healthy!

Congrats on your achievement!

I have to lose weight for top surgery - my breasts have excess fat on them that the nipples have a slight downward angle. The surgeon said if I lost weight, the excess fat on my breasts would shrink away and the nipples would settle into a more natural position that will make the top surgery results (and nipple placement) much better and easier for him to correct. I weighed 229 two weeks ago, currently weigh 220 :3 My goal is 150 and I hope to have top surgery early to mid-2015 ;D

I'm certainly enjoying my new lifestyle! I've never felt more happier and positive before in my life - I believe my positive attitude this time around is what is making me stick to my goals more determined than ever. In the past, I was always looking for a quick-fix and gave up if I didn't see immediate results. Thankfully, I know better now :)

Right on! Nine pounds in two weeks is awesome! You're on the right track. Try exercising 150 mins a week, eat lots of fiber, try the Asian salad at Safeway, with a little of the dressing, drink lemon water, and enjoy your new lifestyle! Plus, we want to be healthy after surgery right? So, you have to make changes you can live with. Congratulations again!
