Hey everyone,
So I've been pretty sure I'm an MtF for quite some time, but as we all know, it's not necessarily an easy realization to come to.
I've toyed around with the idea of this all being a fetish or something kind of passing but, as time has gone on, these feelings haven't disappeared.
I'm 25 and still feel like I've got a lot of self discovering to do but I've decided to finally come out of the shadows and talk to some people who know what I'm going through.
I've told a couple of friends how I feel about myself and they were very accepting (which was awesome) but I think the more challenging part is really being honest with yourself about how you feel all the time.
I know how I feel and I know that a transition would be something I would be extremely happy with, but as with every huge life decision, the assuredness comes with a waterfall of self doubt.
So, here I am, ready to interact (although virtually) with other people like me and see if I can learn a thing or two from others who have already been through the stages I'm currently going through.
Also, I shaved my legs for the first time today and girl does it feel amazing, lol.
Here's to not having any shame and realizing you're not a weirdo for trying to figure what you really want out of this life!

Welcome to Susan's! :)
It sounds like you've got a good foundation, and are in a mature place emotionally about all this right now.
I have no doubt you'll be able to learn a lot from the people here. It's good to (virtually) meet you! :)
Hey Jera,
Thanks for the reply. I hope so too!
It feels good to finally be welcomed somewhere.

Welcome to Susans. It is great to have you join our community. We rarely bite, we really care and we do wish to listen, share and support. You are early in your journey but it is a step at a time and the journey really is more important than the final destination. Understanding, accepting and authentically expressing yourself takes time and some work. The great part is that you choose your speed and your direction, you get to set the course and to author your story.
Safe travels
Aisla
Hi Audrey,
The pilgrimage to an authentic life has many turns, and entails both opportunity and danger. If you are not yet talking to a counselor, that is something that you should consider. Depending on where you live, there are almost certainly people in transition nearby. For me, connections are everything. There is a plethora of people, knowledge, and empathy here. But talking to another over coffee, having a real shoulder to cry on when things are hard, sharing a meal with a friend is both critical to finding who I am, and vital to becoming the woman/person I so long to be.
Regardless, you are welcome and valued here. I wish you peace and
Fair Winds and Calm Seas,
Julie
